As a buyer at QTI, an ISO certified company, I was responsible for the acquisition of electrical, electronic, control, motorization, power transmission, hardware, modified enclosures and complete electromechanical assemblies for many of QTI’s most active product lines. This included negotiation of contracts, pricing, delivery and payment terms, issuance of quote requests, letters of intent, standard and blanket purchase orders, order management, inventory control and interfacing with engineering and sales regarding ECN’s and new product development.

While at QTI, I was able to achieve significant savings for the company. For example, since 2001,I was able to reduce our cost-of product by approximately $1,000,000.00 and reduce our excess/obsolete inventory by approximately $500,000.00. I was also able to reduce lead times on approximately 2,000parts by an average of 25 days/part, reduce our safety stock levels by an average of 300parts/month and reduce our supplier base by 170 suppliers.

I have experience with MRP, Lean Manufacturing, knowledge of and participation in the Kaizen methodology for business improvement, various Windows based business tools and extensive experience dealing with a large supplier base.

I was also instrumental in developing new procedures and reporting tools which greatly improved the performance of the purchasing and receiving departments. I consistently endeavored to maintain and improve the on time delivery of products, reduce costs and insure mutually beneficial relationships between QTI and our suppliers.
