Summary

I started Tool & Die in High School that was also a Vocational School and got a job in my senior year, while starting my apprenticeship. A few years after high school, I became a grinding foreman at an early age because I did very well at handling the tolerances, the people and the work.

I then started my own Tool shop in Erie, PA building spare tooling for local companies and some friends who became successful with large companies; I then opened another shop in North Carolina by going direct with AMP Inc. who gave me my first direct vendor number.

It ended up being easier for me to run out of one location so I closed the Carolina location. Back in my Erie, PA location, I achieved working direct with Boston Scientific, Molex, and Thomas & Betts. I did very well for many years and then the economy got bad so I decided to get out while I still could (by my own choice).

I then took a job doing QA/QC (which was far from what I did) just so I could figure out my plan in life now that I didn’t have my shop anymore.

I then relocated in California to be SMC LTD’s Tool Room Manager and it has been great to work for a company that I can be involved in all facets of manufacturing and to also play a big role in helping the company succeed.

Objective

After all my experiences, I am looking for a job that I can use my background to the fullest. In these times of competitive tooling and manufacturing costs, I would like to always have a position that I can help lead and feel like I am helping our company stay on that competitive cutting edge to make a difference.
