Support consists of sending activation codes to new subscribing Newspapers with an AP modem, this also includes sending reset codes (Downloads) to the modem via Selector Codes (code that identifies the Newspaper) incase of copy flow interruption. Coordinates with Content Data Manager and AP field technicians to have AP equipment supported on-site and or replaced at the partnering, subscribing and or contributing Newspaper. Provides work-around-filing solutions for NYT partnering/subscribing and contributing newspapers in the event the newspaper is having problems with their own filing system. Support, installations and configuration of Reporters Workbench (the article filing application provided by the Associated Press) for the NYTNS, NYTRENG, and SYN Sales departments. Support includes trouble-shooting problems with the NYT T1 line, which Reporters Workbench uses to connect to the Associated Press’ servers (VAX), and AP Hardwire connections (direct serial connections to the AP VAX) setup in the NYTRENG and SYN Sales department.
• International Weekly - Technical lead for International Branded Pages clients. Equipment research, specifications, orders, configurations/ installs. Support consists of trouble-shooting FTP, Font issues, Mac re/imaging and testing hardware/ software, and now the new folder-based publishing filing system called TruFlow and K4 Publishing Systems.
• Atex Systems - Supporting the Atex system in the NYTNS and SYN Sales departments. Support consists of trouble-shooting and maintaining Atex connections to the Associated Press via VAX1 line that also runs over the NYT T1. In the even of a problem with the T1, Atex will be setup to move copy over the VAX2 line (Rj11 direct to AP).
• Technical Writing - Responsible for documenting all new and existing communications and support procedures pertaining to the Associated Press and Atex system for the NYTNS, NYTRENG and SYN Sales departments. Documenting all new and existing hardware and software [including software licenses and serial numbers] rolled out to the News Service and Marketing Services departments. These documents are stored in the EDMS Stellent (Electronic Document Management System).
• Hardware Software - Coordinate with Workstation Services to have new hardware ordered configured and installed for the News Service and Marketing Services department. Also responsible for migrating all technical support calls to System Support to be properly routed to the appropriate area of support. Co-coordinate with co-analysts to have new hardware and software researched, ordered, configured and installed.
• CCI - Support role for the new NYT Publication system. Support entails installations and configurations of the CCI application and the Citrix client of CCI.
