RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

May 2008 - August 2012 COMSEC Custodian U.S. Army, 57th Expeditionary Signal Battalion

COMSEC Custodian for 57th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Managed accounting, safeguarding and destruction of over 1,800 classified communication security items, performed monthly and semiannual inventories. Inspected all COMSEC hand receipt holder to ensure accountability of all issued cryptographic keying material, records, and equipment. Researched and applied both Army and NSA COMSEC regulations. Developed and taught monthly Communication Security Education Program classes. Average size of the week long class was ten students. Condensed COMSEC regulations into simple language published in pocket sized pamphlets for use in field operations. Wrote and implemented policies and procedures for storing classified material, documents, and equipment. Investigated security violations and COMSEC incidents, reported findings and recommended corrective actions. Responsible for ordering and tracking controlled cryptographic items (CCI) through the Information Systems Security Program (ISSP). Deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom develop and managed Regional Command South COMSEC account in which over 50 military units and civilian government agencies were issued COMSEC keying material and CCI.
