TECHNICAL DIRECTOR/PROJECT MANAGER, MOBILE, ALABAMA OFFICE.

Technical Director and Project Manager responsible for Site Investigations, Operation and Maintenance, Permitting, and the Groundwater Monitoring Program at the Rohm and Haas Moss Point, MS Facility. Activities include:

• Completion of site strategic planning and managing a portfolio of $10,000,000 of remediation and site improvement projects.

• Oversight of the on-site RCRA Class B landfill.

• Maintenance of an 80,000 gallon per day groundwater pump treat system discharged to the local POTW.

• Completion of a new NPDES permits for storm water and direct treated water discharge to the local river system.

• Completion of a Site Risk Assessment.

• Completion of an investigation in North Woods Area of the site involving 200 soil borings and over 2000 analytical results.

• Completion and leading fast track approval of North Woods Area Corrective Measures Work Plan. The $1,000,000 project was completed in January 2011.

CIBA Specialty Chemicals 1980 – 2009

HEAD REMEDIATION SERVICES 2006-2008

Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Toms River and McIntosh Alabama Plant

Managed $120 million remediation reserve involving 10 major sites. Worked directly with other Responsible Parties, EPA, Federal and State agencies to investigate site contamination, design and implement remedial actions, and manage monitoring and reporting.

Key accomplishments – Completed timely re-modeling to define source volumes for Toms River site, reduced Toms River ex-situ treatment schedule by two years saving over $10 million in treatment costs and restoring EPA confidence in Ciba’s self management of the project. Led negotiations for NRD settlement at McIntosh site. Developed and gained approval for implementation of Ciba proposal for additional remediation at McIntosh site which completed in 2008. Worked closely with state and federal regulators for fast approval and implementation.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL SERVICES 2004-2006

Ciba Specialty Chemicals, McIntosh Alabama Plant

Project Engineering and design for $10-$16 million capital investment per year, plant maintenance coordination, responsible for maintenance standards, process engineering and automation support, compliance with EH&S guidelines for projects.

Key accomplishments - Led NAFTA purchasing and manufacturing project team as part of Ciba Textiles Effect Segment sale to Huntsman ($1 billion sales/July 1, 2006 systems cut-over successfully completed). Successfully commissioned four major plant upgrades projects in 4th quarter 2005 ($15 million capital/$40 million installed equipment). $3 millions savings project cost reduction through project challenging, standardized cost estimating procedures, revamped plant commissioning procedures.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TINUVIN/TOLL OPERATIONS 2001– 2004

Ciba Specialty Chemicals, McIntosh Alabama Plant

175 people, 5 separate operating areas, $38 million expense, $15 million in contract manufacturing expenses off-site/10 active sites, executive responsible for $30 million contract manufacturing services to Syngenta Corporation, $10 million per year capital investment, and EH&S compliance.

Key Accomplishments - Successfully negotiated $13.7 million closure settlements and closed on-site Syngenta contract manufacturing operations (80 people severed /plant cleaned and shut). $10 million in operating costs savings from Syngenta contract manufacturing areas. Developed process concept and project proposal ($8.5 million/$25 million installed equipment) utilizing idled Syngenta equipment to streamline UVA (Ultraviolet Light Absorber) stabilizer production (project was successfully commissioned 4th quarter 2005 achieving targeted 30% product cost reduction).
