BMW UK Semi-Skilled Technician 06/07 to 04/11

This employment consisted of me carrying out safety checks on new and used vehicles including diagnostics on Mini’s, all BMW series classes and occasionally Rolls Royce.

BMW UK Vehicle Detailer 07/02 to 06/07

This employment I would detail and prepare vehicles to the high standard associated with BMW, using chemicals and machine polishes. I also trained as a senior and team-leader where I would overlook the running and safety of the staff under my supervision. We had to have a work rate of 110%, which was set as standard throughout BMW UK, I surpassed this every month with figures of on average 140%. I was also one of only two staff members that were allowed to work on specialist and show cars.

I would oversee the running and safety of on average 20 staff members on a regular basis, checking quality and deployment of staff were also my duties.

British Coal Onstetter/Banksman (Coal Mining) 01/82 to 12/88

Doing a extensive test, medical and training for 90 days I was employed as an Onsetter and banksman, the main duties here were making sure the safe transportation of men and the usual mining materials and machinery in the mineshaft. I was also partly responsible for the maintenance of the shaft and all it’s electrical and hydraulic systems. I was on a staff relief basis here, so sometimes if my work colleague on the following shift never arrived at work I would have to stay until I had a relief to relieve me of my duties, many times I would work 16 hours.

EDUCATION Thurnscoe Comprehensive High School Graduated in 1981

Studied subjects were: English, Mathematics, History, European Studies, Rural Science, Art and Woodwork. All exams were passed with at least a B-.The first 3 subjects were my highest grades and the were passed with a 92%, a 87% and a 85% pass rate giving me all A’s.
