I did not perform any special projects. My primary purpose was to assist members with their auto travel plans and to cross sell other products and services offered by AAA.
Assisted members with their auto travel plans by preparing Triptiks, make hotel/motel reservations, car rental reservations, and provide them with maps and travel books on their destination(s). I cross sold other products and services offered by AAA; including, referrals for auto, home and life insurance; refer to the travel agent for travel packages; sold traveler’s checks, movie tickets, tickets to Six Flags and other amusement parks in Texas. I prepared bank deposits for pickup by amored car service and balanced my cash box at the end of the day.

Worked partime in an office supply store for Office Max assisting customers in locating products; demonstrated products to customers; and sold product insurance offered by the store. I would also relieve the cashiers. Police the store every night before closing so the store was ready the next day to open.

I started my career with the Federal Government with the FAA as a Teletype Operator in Jacksonville, FL in 1970. In 1974, I moved to the Department of Labor where I progressed up the ladder retiring as a Claims Manager in 2002.
In my final position as a Claims Manager, I supervised 10 Claims Examiners. I would review the quality of their work to ensure that the claims were properly adjudicated inaccordance with established procedures; and that, these claims were adjudicated within established time frames. I ensured that the Examiners paid all their compensation claims for loss wages in a timely manner. Every month, I would review every examiner’s work with each examiner, explaining their mistakes to them and explained what action should have been taken. I also would write each examiner’s performance evaluation based upon guidelines approved by upper management and the union.
