George R Roberts Co. Alfred, ME
Transportation Sales & Safety Manager
At George R Roberts Co. I managed the daily trucking needs of construction customers. I daily took orders and scheduled deliveries of construction products throughout New England.
I was responsible for the safety of the drivers and production facility, implementing safety procedures that met or exceeded OSHA and DOT standards. I was responsible for all driver recruitment and employment.

Pike Industries Inc. Fairfield, ME
Northern Trucking Manager
Management duties included managing all employee situations – from accidents to Safety Meetings; helping resolve differences to administering praise/discipline when due, as well as employee evaluations. Using fairness and sound ethics, I was able to bring to Pike a large fleet of 45 – 75 hired trucks. I was promoted to Northern Trucking Manager in May of 2007. In addition to the Hired fleets, I managed 28 Company drivers. On a daily basis I handled a mass of equipment moves as well as Aggregate/Asphalt sales supplying 4 asphalt plants and customers with over 1.5 million tons of aggregate. I was able to utilize not only Excel and other database utilities but also spear headed the implementation of GPS tracking software and devices to facilitate the daily regime.

Northeast Forest Products/Madison Lumber Skowhegan, Maine
Procurement Manager/Operations Manager
Managerial and contractual duties included maintaining current and finding new markets for forest products. Researching the New England area for prospective expansion yards. Managing satellite yards in four states, as well as the personnel in each location. Supervised 500 contractors / customers, and managed more than a dozen corporate contracts. My schedule fluctuated between the New England states and Canada on a daily/weekly basis. Strictly adhering to and meeting all weekly/monthly deadlines for Reports, Financials and Contracts was a priority.
Daily/Nightly dispatching truck brokers for pickup/deliveries – maintaining a working and friendly relationship between customers and Brokers was a priority to keep things running smoothly.
