Primary responsibilities of the shift coverage mechanic include but not limited to troubleshooting and repair of
problems associated with the daily operation of process equipment. Day shift coverage mechanics responsible for
completing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, repair and/or calibration of transmitters, controllers and
automated equipment. The following skills are required to perform these tasks in a highly efficient manner.
Reading and interpretation of P&ID, single line and electrical blueprints, schematic diagrams associated with
electrical systems, control loops and AC/DC drives.
Knowledge of NFPA Code 70E
Working knowledge of PLC ladder logic and PLC programming.
Troubleshooting and installation AC Variable Speed Drives.
Troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic systems and associated components.
Overhaul and repair of automatic controlled valves, solenoids, pneumatic controllers and transmitters.
Repair and/or calibration of electronic and pneumatic programmable transmitters (Foxboro, Honeywell,
Rosemount, ABB and Mircromotion).

Environmental Technician 11/1999 – 12/2006
Responsible for the collation of environmental sampling for the sites NPDES requirements. Used Microsoft Office
software for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual environmental reports for NPDES, Title V,
and air emission monitoring. Was the fill in backup for the ATO (Assistance to Operations) Engineer and Area
Environmental Specialist. Also during this time frame I:
Developing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with Visual Basics programming.
Managed the RCRA drummed collection, storage and shipping for the site. Which required overseeing the
duties of a contract employee assigned to this area.
Communicated and worked with all levels of management and wage roll.
Wrote work procedures for the Environmental Technician position
Worked with outside government agencies, sampling laboratories and shipping facilities.
Process/Chemical Operator 7/1988 – 10/1999
My responsibilities as a process operator was the daily operation of small industrial extrusion processes in the
manufacture of toothbrush and paint brush filaments. To maintain strict quality guidelines to insure compliance with
industrial manufacturing. As a chemical operator, my responsibilities were to operate larger scale plastic resin
production both field operations (valve piping for operation changes and to maintain system functionality) and control
room operation (using pneumatic and DCS control systems to monitor and control the quality and rate of production).
Also during this time frame I:
Became the first chemical operator to successfully operated polymerizer about the 10,000 lb/hr production rate.
Developed an operational chart to reduce waste in filament production when diameter ch anges needed to be
made.
Helped write operation procedures.
Wrote a presentation to plant staff on the operation and issues with catalyst system in the plastic resin
production.
Prior job experiences of note:
I worked as a chemical operator (7/1987 to 6/1988) for the Orsynex Company which was a small subsidiary of The
Essex Chemical Company that produced intermediates for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, insecticides and herbicides.
I worked several job functions for Kardex Systems Inc from (9/1981 to 6/1987). I started as a metal treatment
technician, then as a production scheduler and finally as a department supervisor.
