EXPERIENCE Thyssenkrupp Access, Roanoke, IL June 2010-Aug 2010
Worked on redesigning the assembly line by implementing Lean principles to streamline
the assembly line operations for National Wheel-O-vator.
• Developed and managed manufacturing balance charts detailing product work flow and sequencing
• Recorded the cycle times for each process conducted necessary Time studies
• Developed Assembly chart, detailed Process at Glance
• Reduced the current process lead time of 21hours to 16 hours in the assembly line by implementing 5S, POI and Lean principles.
Netage Systems Inc, Newton, PA Dec 2008-May 2009
Worked in New Product Development team as a Mechanical Design Engineer in
developing models and designs from conceptual inputs.
• Developed models and designs from conceptual inputs.
• Designed and created assembly drawings, including bill of materials and detail drawings, for work holding equipment, primarily special jaws, chucks, and tool holders
• Created drawings and applied GD&T, Critical and Significant Characteristics.
ACADEMIC Windsor Foods, Toluca, IL Sep 2010- Dec 2010
EXPERIENCE Worked on Ergonomic and safety problems of the workers in production and packaging
areas at the Windsor Foods facility.
• Performed Human performance studies at the production and packaging area
• Collect Anthropomorphic data for analysis, optimize organizational process and layout efficiency
• Wrote Test Plans for Human Factors Requirements (lighting, egress, workload, reach & accommodation) and coordinate with other disciplines on test activities.
• Identified the severity of risk involved in the current material handling process; recommended effective countermeasures to reduce/ the severity of the risk.
• Ergonomic intervention on work stations resulted in minimizing risk factors by 73%, pain symptoms by 57%, and cost savings of about 25,000 dollars.
Morton Industries LLC, Morton, IL Sep 2009-DEC 2009
Worked in Lean Project implementation to streamline the flow of the John Deere rail
process and control the inventory for the Morton Industries LLC.
• Recorded the cycle times for each process and mapped the Value Stream Map to identify the bottle necks.
• Constructed the Future Value Stream Map, Proposed Kaizen events, identified the seven deadly wastes, implemented single Kanban system and designed Pokoyoke for error proofing.
• Proposed a new pre-clean inventory process
• Conducted Cost Justification analysis for time, material and implementation of project with a total savings of $250,000.
• Reduced the total lead time from 22 days to 12 days.
