Worked in a contract position for ASRC providing services to Department of Energy at a remote Strategic Petroleum Reserve facility. I was responsible for General Industry and Construction safety project oversite over sub-contractor’s safety project compliance to Department of Energy standards, at facility location.
I was also responsible for providing Construction safety oversite for ASRC’s projects to ensure complete Department of Energy required compliance.

Safety Systems Manager, January 08- November 10
Harvey Gulf International Marine, Galiano, LA
Worked with management and line supervisors to implement safety culture throughout company. Conducted safety training and risk assessments (hazard recognition audits) on vessels. Conducted the majority of the companies new hire orientation. Responsible for re-writing the majority of the company’s HSE Manual. Conducted shop and vessel environmental and safety inspections, ensuring compliance with all aspects of the company’s safety management system. Maintained ISNetworld, NCMS and other third party customer audit company requirements. Acted as on site Safety Manager for Hot Work, Confined Space, LO/TO activities conducted on Harvey Gulf vessels. Responded to incidents and conducted incident investigations following ABS root cause analysis methodologies. Implemented Corrective Actions and ensured that these actions were utilized throughout the fleet. I conducted approximately 150 incident investigations in the 3 year period of employment.
I investigated complicated incidents involving wheelhouse equipment malfunctions, vessel wrecks and also investigated injuries. Wrote Safe Work Procedures for the processes in the shop and on the vessels. Worked with team in developing HSSE Continuous Improvement System (CIS) management system for company. Worked with team to become OSHAS 18001 compliant. I was a major player in the writing and development of the management system components and also in the writing of the company’s new management system. Managed and trained others on the Behavioral Based Safety System. Lead for Safety System audits on Harvey Gulf’s sub-contractors. Interacted with American Bureau of Shipping and United States Coast Guard and customers such as Shell, Chevron on a regular basis. Shell was Harvey Gulf’s primary customer. Harvey Gulf adopted and implemented Shell’s offshore rig operational and safety procedures and policies (ex. OPS 11, OPS 55, 500 meter zone vessel approach procedures, 12 Lifesaving Rules) for our OSV’s offshore rig work coordination. I worked intimately with Shell and had training on Risk Assessment, and other topics with Shell. I interacted with Shell on a regular basis to ensure that Harvey Gulf was in compliance with Shell’s requirements. Represented Harvey Gulf at professional marine meetings at Offshore Marine Service Association (OMSA). Long term member of American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). I was lead for internal safety and environmental audits for Harvey Gulf, in the shop facility and also on the vessels. NRG conducted installation and refurbishing on engines and compressors that moved natural gas through the system, including natural gas plant locations.
