EARLY WORK EXPERIENCE:

Acting Accountant and Operations Manager for LANDTANO CORPORATION, my fathers’ OIL WELL business. Total immersion in Wildcatting when he struck oil in Fort Morgan, Colorado. His innate entrepreneurial skill set taught me the abstract techniques necessary to show Value when bringing in Investors for the multiple working oil wells that made up the bulk of our family legacy. The eventuality was my management, development and growth of his diversified portfolio that at the time included blue chip stocks like Boeing and Kodak along with shares of South African gold stock that paid quarterly dividends. I was instrumental in directing my father’s interests into new technology and helped him build the family legacy. September 1978 through October 1983.

Pfizer Laboratories, New York. 1983 to 1986

Pharmaceutical Hospital Sales Manager for territory in Columbia, South Carolina. Spent two and a half years developing the physician business for the utilization of multiple maintenance medications that included cardiovascular drugs, Minizide and Minipress; anti-depressants including Haldol and respiratory preparations for surgical procedures . I was the only female District Manager in the southern district and categorically changed the perception of this position while increasing hospital usage of product line across the board. The opportunity to move back to Denver presented with an unsolicited offer from competitor company, Merck Sharpe & Dohme Pharmaceutical .

Merck Sharpe & Dohme Pharmaceutical 1986 to 1992

Pharmaceutical Sales Representative in the Denver Metro area with the Cardiovascular/Infectious Disease Division charged with selling and promoting a new injectible antibiotic used in the surgical suite. The promotion of the product is in proportion to the promotion of yourself as the expert, the consultant, the only option as the final “go to”person for the surgeon. This premise was specific to my long term success in launching the products as well as building their usage. One must become “indispensible” in the client’s buying decisions.

Named “Rookie of the Year” for outstanding sales and promotion of Primaxin.

The Sales Training for both companies involved weeks away from home in New York City and Philadelphia as well as ongoing seminars and colloquia.
