Supplier Quality Assurance and Development Engineer

Responsible for supplier quality for powdered metals, springs, electrical assemblies and components, laser-cut stamping commodities, plastics, fuel tanks, transaxle drives and weldment assemblies. Reviews, tracks and approves all levels of suppler PPAP submissions. Conducts supplier assessment audits of new and existing suppliers for the HOP Orangeburg facility. Establish an effective one Husqvarna way of working with regards to supplier quality assurance and development. Evaluates and classifies new and existing suppliers. Identifies supplier quality related risks and be Husqvarna’s drivers for reducing identified risks. To be a driver for, and the owner of, developing suppliers’ quality performance. Supplier Quality Supervisor/Manager

Responsible for supplier quality management and incoming inspection activities. Reviewed, tracked and approved supplier PPAP submissions for all levels of submissions including those that included requirements for UL/CE/IEC and RoHS compliance requirements, maintained PPAP database. Reviewed and approved supplier corrective actions. Prepared internal corrective actions, (8D’s) to the customer. Performed inspection and testing of some vendor assemblies. Internal Audits and Layered Process Audits. Supervised as many as 11 people to support GP12 and CS2 Inspection Activities. • Conducted kick-off meetings for 3rd party containments and sorts. In other words, conducted needs analysis with the clients and their customers determining requirements and specifications to engage customers and suppliers in establishing the parameters for the inspection process.

• Set-up containment process flows and wrote work instructions for new suppliers and containment inspection activities. Ensured that inspectors had accurate guidelines for conducting inspections, both visual and with variable and attribute measuring devices.

• Played major role in General Aluminum, Richmond IN Plant receiving their ISO/TS 16949 certification. Performed Gage R&Rs, Calibrations, Part Layouts and updating calibration records, and identifying issues to eliminate possible findings.

• Completed a successful GP12 (new supplier) Inspection requirement at Visteon, Springfield Plant thus enabling GM to remove the supplier from the GP12 inspection requirement.

Responsible for process quality, APQP for new products and customer PPAP submissions. Wrote process flows, PFMEAs and control plans for composite products and components. Used Powerway online to submit documentation for DCX PSOs and PPAPs. Calibrated check fixtures and other measurement devices. Performed variable and attribute gage R&Rs and other measurement systems analysis on measurement equipment.

• Visited customers regularly to be more proactive in resolving issues. Identified issues with two different customers, DCX and GM, where they were over stacking our products in their warehouses, causing damage to the product. Resolved issues by testing and implementing stronger boxes thus resolving the situation.

FAURECIA EXHAUST INC., (Troy, Ohio) 2003 – 2005

Senior Quality Engineer

Responsible for APQP, creating process flows, PFMEAs and control plans for the V6 and I4 KJ exhaust systems and others. Wrote work instructions, auto inspection instructions, gauging instructions, other visual aids and procedures for the KJ exhaust systems. Assembled and maintained the DaimlerChrysler PSO and PPAP documents and other customer PPAP documents into books for a successful PSO/PPAP submission. Awarded contracts and worked with equipment vendors to create gauging systems for exhaust system components. Certified new product shipments to the customer. Performed capability analysis on product components, and processing equipment. Performed layered process audits and was the Quality Wall Supervisor for the KJ exhaust products.

• Played a major role getting Faurecia’s first successful DCX PSO/PPAP approval.
