M.S.E.E. from Drexel University B.S.E.E. Bucknell University
Professional Engineering License PA 85 NJ 97 NY 96
Professional Experience:
Contract Manufacturing Firm
Senior Application Engineer 2003-to present
RF Design. Designed limiter and detector for row receiver on AN/FPS-117 Radar. The design included.
selection of components, board design and layout, fabrication and specification of test parameters. I supervised the fabrication of the units and verified test documentation.
RF design. Designed oscillator for a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for Military Radar. This design included selection of components, circuit board layout, supervision of fabrication and the testing.
Tested Magnetic Intrusion Detector for US Marines for ship or submarine detection.
2001-2002 Contract Positions
Electronic Toll Collection & Railroad Signal Systems
Supported design, construction and test of electronic toll collection system on Delaware highways. Provided engineering support for specification and installation of SEPTA 100 Hz. Signalling System.
Electronic Measurements Inc., Neptune N.J. Electrical Engineer
1998 to 2000
Designed , developed, and tested an interface system to provide RS-232 and GPIB inputs/outputs to a 1 kilowatt power supply for industrial use. The interface board included analog and digital designs to control the output of the power supply.
Designed custom power supplies to meet customer specifications and support production in 1 to 5 kilowatt range power supplies.
Provided engineering support to solve problems in test on the production floor.
Communication Electronics Command Directorate (CECOM), Fort Monmouth, N.J. Electrical Engineer
1994 to 1997
Designed, supervised, and coordinated fabrication of both single and dual dipole omnidirectional antennas from conception to test. Conducted field trials which created communication systems enabling mobile units to communicate with a centralized base station. Filed three joint patent disclosures based on the concepts and design for these systems. The single dipole antennae (developed for the Wireless Network Access Radio System) were designed to radiate radio frequency signals with uniform strength along the horizon in the UHF

band. The dual dipole antenna system was developed for the Surrogate Digital Radio Program, as an evolutionary outgrowth of the single dipole system. It utilized a different frequency within the UHF band and its design allowed for a flattening of the radiation pattern and increased field strength along the horizon.
Participated in installation and test of a new, high data rate, SONET radio (OC3C = 155 Megabits/sec) within a system designed for 2 way digital data exchange.
R.F. Products, Inc. Camden, N.J. Electrical Engineer
1992 to 1993
Designed the interface between a radio and a hopping VHF filter from conception to test. The system converts serial frequency data from the radio into a parallel format which is used to drive IGBT switches. The system design utilized high voltage and high current switches controlled by a programmable gate array and EEPROMS.
RCA (GE Aerospace Div.), Moorestown, N.J. Electrical Engineer
1982 to 1992
Designed a digital system that takes digital data from a gyroscope and transmits it to four different users, an alphanumeric display system for shipboard use, a general purpose serial input/output interface for a shipboard radar system which allowed a computer bus to communicate with a serial device, a chassis to take analog video data from an RF receiver and process it for use by a computer, and a chassis to repeat and amplify video data for use in optical target tracking.
Kulicke and Soffa, Horsham, Pa. Electrical Engineer
1979 to 1982
Designed from conception to test a pulsed high voltage power supply for Electronic Flame Off (EFO) on a wire bonding machine used in the production of semiconductors and a regulated high current power supply using SCR’s used in the production of integrated circuits. The responsibilities for both of these projects included developing the concepts, supervising construction, testing, and supervising the printed circuit layout.
Developed test parameters and procedures for the QC department for transistor burn in to reduce infant mortality and increase reliability.
Investigated, analyzed, and corrected an oscillation problem in a power amplifier used with servo motors on wire bonding machines.
Developed new concepts for the heatsinking of power amplifiers on die bonding machines to prevent failures due to thermal runaway of transistors.
Patents: In the year 2000: 6,014,112 and 6,037,905 Antenna
Computer Experience:
Knowledge of multiple computer languages, including APL, BASIC, COBOL, FORTRAN and Assembly Language. Experience in computer programming. electrical engineering theory on Computer Aided Design.
Developed the software for the gyroscope project at RCA, which required the implementation of Assembly Language programs to control the system testing utilizing a computer driven test set.
