2010 Joined the Quality Management staff at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport as a Quality Resource Analyst and promoted to Healthcare Accreditation Coordinator.

2009 Completed a dual master’s degree program in Nursing Science and Health Administration; also, invited to join the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.

2009 Participated, collaborated, and assisted with devising a county-wide system of immunizing 9,000 Pearl River County public and private school children in coordination with the Mississippi Department of Health District IX participating local Pearl River County Physician offices with the H1N1 vaccine.

2008 Interim Director of Laboratory Services at Highland Community Hospital and participated in a successful CLIA survey two weeks within the assignment.

2008 Completed 12 year tenure as a Pearl River County Hospital and Nursing Home Board of Trustee as an appointee of the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors.

2007 Invited and attended the University of Minnesota Family Medicine Department to sit on an expert panel investigating tools to facilitate transfers from rural hospitals to tertiary hospitals in order to improve information flow and patient safety.

2003 Designed and implemented a facility-wide Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and Corporate Compliance programs and trained over 400 employees.

1999 During a difficult time when our parent company was facing difficult times, I was as to combine and direct several hospital operations such as Utilization Management, Risk Management, Infection Control, Medical Staff Credentialing, Quality Management, Corporate Compliance, and Employee Health in to the department of Clinical Outcomes Management. Later I was as to introduce a formal RN Medical Social Work Case Management Model. Over a 6 year period we were able to decrease the ALOS of 5.4 to 2.8. We also redesigned a more effective discharge planning process that saved a number of man-hours per week in formal discharge planning meetings.

1997 Asked to combine and direct Emergency Department Services and Intensive Care Services. Redesigned the ED to improve throughput time from “door to floor” from an average of four hours to two hours.

1996 Appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Pearl River County Hospital and Nursing Home by the Pearl River County Supervisors.

1996 Voted “Outstanding Alumni of the Year” by the Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nursing – Pearl River Community College.

1994 Received acclamation on Infection Control improvements by the Mississippi Department of Health.
