United Coal Company, Blountville, TN - Corporate Safety Specialist for United Coal Company. Job duties include: Inspections, planning and training for Underground, Surface Mines and Preparation Plants. In addition to being a Safety Specialist, I am also the Chief of Fire Brigades. Duites include: Training and supervising five fire brigades in three states.
Firefighter/EMT August 2007 to June 2010
Roanoke, Roanoke, VA - Provide Fire Suppression and Emergency Medical Services to a large Metropolitan area. Duties Include: Operate Class A Fire Pumper, and Aerial Apparatus on Emergency scenes. Offensive and Defensive fire attack. Provide Emergency Medical skills on an Advanced Life support Ambulance. Member of the Regional Technical Rescue Team. To prepare for the rigors of the job I attended a 16- week paramilitary Fire Academy in which I graduated with the highest G.P.A. in my class. While in this class I attended many emergency service courses.

Pocahontas Coal Company, Beckley, WV - Underground Mine Electrician for Pocahontas Coals Josephine#3 mine. Duties at this job were: Provide maintenance to section and out-by equipment. Mitigate any maintenance issues that may arise. Do required permissibility checks to ensure personnel safety. While at this job I had the great opportunity to work on a Continuous Miner Section with Uni-Hauler, Shuttle Car and Continuous haulage systems. During this period of employment I obtained my West Virginia Assistant Mine foreman certification and West Virginia Qualified Diesel Instructor.
Electrician April 2004 to May 2006
Rockhouse Creek Devolpement, Man, WV - Electrician for Rockhouse Creek Developments #5 underground mine. During My tenor at this operation I served as both electrician and electrician trainee. As an electrician trainee I learned the process of mining coal to further my skills as an electrician and coal miner. I operated a DBT 25 mo continuous miner, Fletcher Roof Ranger Two roof bolter, Joy 21sc shuttle car and Fairchild 35xls Scoop. This proved to be most helpful in learning the process of troubleshooting. I achieved my West Virginia High/Med/Low voltage Electrician certification and Virginia Underground Electrical Repairman certification in July of 2005. My job duties as an Electrician were to mitigate any maintenance problem that may arise at the small coal operation and to check required permissibility for safety. I was also charged with the position of shift Emergency Medical Technician.

Princeton/ Bluefield Fire Dept, Mercer County,WV - Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician for the City of Princeton, WV and City of Bluefield, WV. My Duties to this job were Suppressing of Fires, Emergency first responder, Hazardous Materials Mitigation and Technical Rescue. During my Tenor at Princeton and Bluefield Fire Depts I obtained many certifications from West Virginia University Fire Extension. My tenor was shortened at Bluefield Fire dept due to budget shortfalls within the city.
