Manufacturing Superintendent / Projects Manager
After being promoted twice, I am currently the 2nd Shift Plant Operations Manager and Project Manager for all large capital asset projects and plant expansions. Since my latest promotion, I have increased efficiency by over 10% of the two largest departments and reduced absenteeism by 5% in less than one year. I have 6 direct reports and over 120 employees that operate 6 major departments. Prior to being promoted, I was initially hired as safety engineer then later promoted to project manager role to assume full leadership of stalled project for manufacturer of a variety of portable and fixed fire extinguishing systems. Subsequently shouldered 6 to 8 high-level projects simultaneously within tight budget and time constraints by establishing sound concepts, policies, and procedures. Safety Director
Recruited by unionized, ductile iron pipe manufacturer with multiple organizational problems, low employee morale, and no safety culture or budget to establish and manage all safety and health aspects. Within a few months of hire, OSHA initiated 6-month audit that led to startup of several capitalized project to correct all citations and plant-wide training initiatives.
Negotiated $250K in proposed OSHA penalties down to $106K by demonstrating initiation of massive plant-wide changes.
Shifted culture by implementing DuPont STOP program that prompted managers and unionized employees to work together to report/correct safety violations, thus reducing injuries by +75%.
