Profile
At Fort Lewis College I majored in Cellular and Molecular Biology as well as Chemistry, ACS Certified Degree. My heart and passion lie within the sciences and I hope to gain employment practicing my passion. I have successfully worked in and managed teams in different labs and have proven to be a productive contributor and effective leader. I bring maturity and an excellent work ethic to laboratories as well as an understanding and an ability to communicate within a laboratory team.
Experience
Analytical Chemist
Johnson Matthey
West Deptford, NJ – June 2011-October 2011
Responsibilities include; Communications among senior team members to accurately prioritize samples, Dilutions for ICP testing and running ICP instrumentation. I am familiar with ICP interface and software as well as SOP’s, physical Integration of results for reporting and reporting of data through LABWARE. Instrumentation varied from ICP to ICP-MS as well as AA.
Bench Chemist
Green Analytical Chemistry
Durango, Colorado -- December 2009-December 2010
Performed analysis of soil samples independently completed using AA and ICP as well as pH and electro- conductivity. I have knowledge of a multitude of instrumental methods as well as an understanding of analytical chemical techniques used on a daily basis to perform analyses.
Analytical Research Chemist
S And S Chemical
Durango, Colorado -- January 2009-December 2009
Performed a wide range of techniques for analysis on polyethylenes with high molecular weight. Techniques used included gas chromatography, mass spec, NMR, titrations, pH measurements, and Total Organic Carbons. Hydroboration synthesis reactions were also run using a range of wet chemistry techniques.
Inorganic Research Chemist
Fort Lewis College
Durango, Colorado -- August 2006-May 2009
I conducted chemical synthesis of inorganic compounds to further research in hydrogenase mimics. Direct responsibilities included independent problem solving and communication. All reactions were done while observing air-free techniques as well as a vast amount of NMR interpretation, dimensional analysis, comprehension of inorganic chemistry and laboratory notebook maintenance. I presented my independent research results at the National American Chemical Society symposiums in New Orleans, LA in 2008 and Salt Lake City, UT in 2009.
