SELECTED RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Managed all aspects of a company multi-location corporate function including recruitment, hiring and training of staff, budgeting, scheduling work and activities, establishing policies and procedures, procurement of supplies, performance evaluation, and motivation of employees.

• Managed the company’s presence as the exclusive retailer for the NFL Experience. Built, scheduled and orchestrated this 12 to 14 day Super Bowl event partnering with corporate and field teams from startup to finish encompassing a 150 – 200 person staff, and generating new merchandise sales in excess of $8M - $10M.

• Boosted sales through development of a comprehensive merchandising training program for associates at the company’s 525 locations in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. Created curricula, handouts and delivered lecture, small group and one-on-one instruction during 6 clinics held nationwide within a 4-week time period.

• Boosted sales revenue by negotiating with the NBA to become the official NBA retailer. Created a marketing plan which included media buys, out of home applications, website communications and in-store events. The plan was accepted by NBA increasing sales of this brand 40% in the first full year.

• Challenged with designing a New Look for the company’s Store of the Future. Worked with my design team to develop a new store format that called to the essence of Champs Sports. Designs encompassing a new store build out, store front and in-store structural look was submitted to senior management.

• Increased productivity through creation of an informational presentation for District Managers on Marketing Plans and events for the upcoming year. The excitement of future plans provided incentives and buy-in from these important location management personnel to attain the sales goals of the company.

• Conducted research on an ongoing basis into upcoming trends, the needs of our customers, the competition, and styles that were evolving. Presented this information to company management and our vendors to ensure a strong market position.

• Helped the community and enhanced company exposure by creating an event to raise funds for a community center. The gala dinner with professional athletes, live and silent auctions and a golf event succeeded in raising over $250K over 5 years which was used to build the center.

• Designed new visual in-store presentations on a monthly basis. Partnered with our vendors to present new items in such a way as to increase sales of their product and our bottom line. Created 4 to 8 new programs per month for the full calendar year.

• Researched future trends and the marketplace to develop a PowerPoint presentation for use by the VP of Marketing to present to the CEO of our parent company. Completed my portion of the complete marketing deck package on merchandising changes that would be made in the upcoming year.

• Improved productivity and consistency in sales by authoring new Training Manuals for field personnel. Developed 3 separate sets of marketing/training instructions for the manuals which are still in use to this day.

• Enhanced morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility, opportunities for additional cross-training and performance incentives that encouraged a sense of ownership in the overall operations.

• Increased company website traffic by initiating a Hot Colors Program which allowed our customers to vote on-line for their favorite hot color outfit with possibility of winning a $500 shopping spree. Results exceeded expectations with a 150% increase in website traffic and an increase of in-store sales for that time period over 35%.
