Management & Administration

• Assist in moving a 250,000 square foot manufacturing facility to Knoxville, TN from Milwaukee, WI. Involved the direction of activity in regards to plant layout, start-up of manufacturing facility, and assisting in personnel selection of 67 welders for the new location.

• Write and maintain welding procedure qualification (to all above specifications) for Knoxville, TN Manufacturing, Milwaukee Manufacturing, and Marine Repair Facilities, Virginia Beach, VA.

• Research and analyze welding and base material problems, make recommendations. Write welding repair procedures to the specific code requirement.

• Review outside fabricators welding procedures and procedure qualification, accept or accept with comments and recommendations, or reject.

• Review all customers welding specifications to assure welding procedures, procedure qualifications and welder assemblers are qualified for project.

• Write PAR’s and justifications for capitals equipment, considering cost and products most needed.

• Interface with estimating department on welding times and rates, monitoring and preventing overrides on jobs.

• Write and maintain pickling and passivating procedures, ordering all pickling supplies and materials.

• Procure and maintain welding supplies and equipment, keeping within budget allowance.

Personnel Development

• Train and develop welding personnel on existing and new code requirements.

• Conduct weld qualifications and performance testing and evaluations on welding personnel.
