EXPERIENCE
Contract Project (2006-2007) Solid mechanics institute, BUAA
Stress analysis and testify the mechanical properties of carbon fiber reinforced polymer. Successfully developed a Matlab program to simulate the randomly arrangement of the carbon fibers and used ANSYS to verify the failure properties with the experimental data and provide the stress analysis.
Research Assistant (2008- now) Center for Computer-aided Design, Univ. of Iowa
Successfully implemented the sparse solver (skyline solver) for a finite element analysis program written in Fortran, quite reduced the computation time.
Developed a new FEA program for NURBS geometrical models written in Mathematica.
o Replace the traditional shape function with B-spline in the new FEA program in Mathematica.
o Performed dynamic and stress analysis on NURBS base geometrical models for contact problems.
Experimental model design via ANSYS on shell model for heart valve.
o Successfully designed and demonstrated stress analysis for diseased heart valve model via ANSYS.
Experimental model design via Rhino on cerebral aneurysm and FEA via ANASYS.
o Designed the cerebral aneurysm via Rhino, imported IGES to ANAYS and conducted stress analysis.
Inverse stress analysis in abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) considering thrombus via FEAP.
o Successfully designed the thrombus of AAA base on the medical image.
o Completed inverse stress analysis for mixed shell and solid element AAA model via FEAP.
Insensitivity of Stress to Material Models in Inverse & Forward Analysis.
o Using abdominal aortic aneurysms model to study the stress insensitivity for inverse shell element.
Pointwise identification of elastic properties in nonlinear shells via FEAP&SNOPT.
o Developed 8-fiber Holzapfel shell element for FEAP in Fortran.
o Successfully completed the pointwise identification program via SNOPT.
Teaching Assistant Project (2009 - 2011) Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Univ. of Iowa
Drafted the whole lab curriculum for Finite Element Method, design the FEA models through ANSYS and lead the lab for three semesters.
Competition Project (2004)
“Variable camber airfoil concept demonstrator” which was awarded the second prize of “Feng Ru Cup”, the most essential science and technology contest in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
