I am currently a floral clerk at Safeway and I am going to be starting college online soon to get my Associates Degree in Accounting. I am looking for a job to start me out in the accounting field of work. This way, I will hve some experience in accounting when I actually get my Degree and it will be easier for me to get a job as an accountant.

My responsibilities as a floral clerk are to help customers when they can’t find what they’re looking for and/or don’t know what they want to purchase, make flower arrangements, take customer’s orders, ring up customers, clean up the department at the end of my shift, process freight when it comes in, answer phone calls, transfer calls when needed, and page people such as managers when needed for assistance or when they have a phone call holding for them.

As a coutesy Clerk, there were many things around the store that had to be done on a daily basis. The main thing was to bag groceries and bring carts in from the parking lot. I also had to clean bathrooms, clean checkstands when needed, dust shelves when needed, help customers take their groceries out to their car when they asked, taking out trash, puttng items back on the shelves where they belong when they were either misplaced or customers decided they didn’t want to purchase them, and cleaning the break room.

As a teacher aide at this daycare, I was responsible for watching over the kids in the room I was assigned to each day, cleaning up after them, making sure the kids weren’t doing anything they shouldn’t be, teahing the kids new things, feeding them at lunch and snack times, and cleaning and sanitizing the room at closing time.

At the ice museum, I sold tickets for the show every hour, started shows and told the history of the Alaska Ice Art Championships that is held every winter, show a video, sell snacks and souvenirs, answer any questions that customers had before or after the show, and clean up my area at the end of the day.

Software/ System Skills:

I know how to use a few different software programs on computers including: Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel. Although, I am not very experienced in using Microsoft Excel.

I can type about 35 WPM by sight and about 20 WPM by touch.
