I performed oncology, general chemistry and urine assays via automated and manual methods. I also trained new technologists in those procedures and instruments and performed routine maintenance and troubleshooting and assisted with QC for said procedures.
May 1988– February 2001: Lab Manager/ Chemistry Supervisor

I managed technical and clerical staff for a clinical laboratory. I was accountable to the owner for staff training of OSHA, Chemical Hygiene and Universal Precautions regimens. I also had general supervisory duties in the Chemistry Department involving both automated and manual systems. These included developing Quality Assurance systems including QC, and client notification of serious results. I was the lead contact for the technical departments for the 1999 IT transition which included Y2K compliance. I brought assays in house with financial and turnaround time savings. I was responsible for staff scheduling and bench work as well.
