 Prepared specifications to achieve sustainable design, and to require the Design Build Operate (DBO) Contractor to follow these specifications during construction phase of the project.

 Provided leadership and technical support on Dubai Metro Green Line Extension Project on environmental assessment and sustainable design tasks. Supervised preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Report, Sustainability Methodology Report, and Initial Sustainability Report.

 Developed the environmental engineering section of Parsons Internal Sustainability Guidelines Manual. The sustainability strategies included in this manual are designed to assist Parsons project teams in incorporating sustainable design concepts on infrastructure projects, globally.

 Managed a large Green Building Demolition & Reconstruction project (value .50 million dollars) for NAVFAC in Pensacola, FL. The emphasis of the project was on incorporation the sustainability features and reusing valuable building materials from old buildings, wherever possible

 Performed ‘sustainable’ water supply planning for several clients in the municipal sector (City Of Altamonte Springs, City of Wildwood, Polk County, etc.). For achieving sustainable water supply, performed studies to assess the potential of utilizing surface waters from ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, etc. and supplemental water from Class II & Class II aquifers.

 Developed an innovative fee structure to help City of Wildwood achieve sustainable growth. For achieving sustainability, the fee was designed to discourage use of potable water for landscaping and miscelleanous recreation uses. Instead, the City offered subsidized reclaimed water from their sewage treatment plant, which was also accepted by power generation firms in Florida, USA.

 As a consultant for a food processing industrial client in Florda, USA, developed a ‘sustainable’ solution for processing sludge so that it could be used for agricultural purposes to provide necessary nutrients to the soils.

 Managed large design & construction projects at commercial sites in SE Region that processed mixed radioactive waste generated at DOE sites and laboratories. The projects involved hazardous waste treatment facility design, permitting and environmental compliance. The process to convert hazardous waste into non-hazardous waste was based on patented waste solidification technology.

 Prepared applications for Title V Air Permits, PSD permits, NPDES permits, Industrial Wastewater discharge permits and solid waste permits, and RCRA part B permits for TSDFs. Tracked permit compliance requirements such as: air, groundwater, soils and stormwater sampling events, stack testing, compliance reporting and permit renewal dates.

 Maintained accurate and up to date electronic databases, information systems and filing systems to keep track of operating logs, significant environmental upset events, monitoring data, test reports and calibration records required by air permits.

 Performed various studies for Waste Management Inc of Florida related to beneficial usage of sludge at various landfill facilities across Florida , USA. Technologies studied for recycling wastewater sludges included: waste solidification, treatment using activated carbon and phosphatic compounds for end-use as fertilizer, waste composting, sludge drying technologies including biogas or methane rich landfill gas fired sludge dryers, sludge ring beds using solar technologies, etc. The ultimate aim for this project was to achieve sustainability goals, financially and from environmental standpoint.

 Performed evaluation of industrial sludges for Waste Management of Florida, estimated the organic content and feasibility for sludge incineration; also estimated the organic VOC emissions to ascertain there are no impacts to local air quality standards for treating the sludge and storing it onsite for an extended time period at the landfill.

 Managed several hazardous waste remediation projects in SE United States. Coordinated hazardous waste investigations and corrective actions with EPA’s Region IV staff. Prepared several Contamination Assessment Reports (CARs) and Remedial Action Plans (RAPs). Achieved clean closure status on EPA region IV and local Florida Bureau of Waste Cleanup projects, and prepared post-closure monitoring plans for several other projects. Assisted City of Titusville in writing a new Ordinance for Wastewater Discharges from “Significant Industrial Users”, with safeguards for illegal or unannounced discharges from some of the sources.

 DevelopedSustainable Solid Waste Master Plans for industrial clients in Florida USA. The plan included identification, segregation, treatment, storage and transport for beneficial uses offsite to the end users or processing facilities. Recyclables included paper, metal chips, wood, cardboard, machine coolants and oils, and industrial sludges with organic content and with recoverable levels of valuable metallic constituents.

 Assisted McDonnell Douglas with comprehensive storm-water permitting to allow sustainable facility expansion. The treatment for additional storm-water was accomplished through use of wetlands, pond underdrain perforated pipes, adjustment of overflow weirs on the storm-water ponds, and with sloped grassy swales around the 550 acre property

 Managed more than 25 building construction projects (cumulative value at more than 250 million dollars) for an aerospace manufacturing firm in Florida, with emphasis on sustainability, better energy resource conservation and better water resource management.

 Designed over 25 Water/Wastewater/Stormwater recycling as well as waste pollution prevention projects. Technologies utilized included mixed ion-exchange, reverse osmosis, ultra-filtration, centrifuge solids, separation, froth floatation, ultra-pasteurization, electrolytic reduction, solvent distillation, bacteria disinfection with chemical agents, and multiple pass media filtration
