PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

President PWC Technologies, Inc. (Feb. 2001 to present) – PWC manufactures and markets Visual Vapor Generators for visualizing laminar airflow in clean room environments. See web page at www.pwctech.com.

Senior Mechanical Engineer (June 2007 to December 2007) – High Tower Technology Capital, Inc. High Tower is a contract Engineering Company that works with Hewlett Packard in Vancouver providing support for H.P. Engineers. I am currently doing qualification tests for overseas supplied components for future H.P. printers.

R&D Mechanical Engineer (2 years) – Shimadzu

Canby, Oregon. Shimadzu makes HPLC’s (high pressure liquid chronographs)used for analyzing liquid chemical samples.

• I and an electrical engineer combined Shimadzu’s high pressure pump and electronics with a customer’s cabinet and degasser to produce a stand-alone hybrid product that doubled Shimadzu USA’s yearly profits.

• Performed packaging layouts. Design and manufacturing of internal and external equipment housings.

R&D Mechanical Engineer (9 months) Emery World Wide Airlines Portland, Oregon. Emery held the contract to sort and transport USPS Priority Mail.

• Designed, tested and implemented changes to Emery’s automated parcel sorting machinery that improved efficiency, speed, accuracy and addressed ergonomic issues.

Equipment Engineer (Special Projects) (13 years) Wacker Siltronics Portland, Oregon. Wacker is a world class manufacturer of four through eight inch silicon and silicon with EPI Wafers.

• Because of my success with process and equipment improvements, a new position was created at Wacker that I held for many years.

• Conceived, designed, manufactured and installed equipment throughout many locations in the plant. This removed bottle necks, increased yields and improved processes. Some examples are:

• Laser Marker change-over module. Reduced the time to change wafer sizes from 3 to 4 hours to just flicking a switch. Estimated cost savings $240,000 a year.

• Edge Etch Machine. Allowed the removal of excess LTO from the edge of the LTO wafers to increase from 25/hour to 250/hour. This reduced a bottleneck and the cost of the machine was under $3000.

• Use of UHMW as a wafer contacting material. Discovered that Ultra High Molecular Weight Poly Ethylene would not leave a residue nor scratch the backside of wafers when used as the material of vacuum wands. Estimated savings to Wacker $1,000,000 a year. Received outstanding achievement award and credit in the patent.

• Installed (12) wafer cleaning machines in the north build-out. This is a Class 10 clean room and required very careful preparation and care to not violate clean room protocol during installation and start up.

• Designed, built and installed a special diced wafer clean station for ten percent of the cost of the normally used station.

• Above are just highlites of the work I did while employed at Wacker Siltronic. I had over twenty design/modifications that were implemented and most of these designs are still in use.

Technical Engineer R&D (4 years) Lamb-Weston Portland, OR. Made and marketed potato products that were sold to companies such as McDonalds.

• Was instrumental in designing the “Potato Skin” machine and manufacturing line at Pocatello, Idaho.

• Worked on a team that designed the “Criss Cut” potato slices.

Tank Engineer (3 years) Peerless Truck and Trailer Portland, OR. Manufactured tanks for trucks and trailers.

• Engineering and drafting of liquid and bulk commodity truck mounted tanks, semi-trailers and full trailers.
