|QUALITIES |
I am extremely hard working and physically fit, I have a vast knowledge of
both the practical and health and safety side of the construction, power
station and oil and gas industries.
I have been both a health and safety union rep and health and safety
advisor throughout my employments, regularly attending site walk rounds,
site inspections and conducting both practical and environmental audits.
I fit in well to team working but also am capable of running projects
alone I believe I am very approachable and always willing to help or
provide advice were possible.
In my previous employments I have been in charge of the health safety and
wellbeing of over 200 workers directly providing training, toolbox talks
and advice on all aspects of works also contributing to all other safety
issues on sites were they have peaked at over 70,000 workers when working
in Africa.

Erector/Rigger
Peppers marquees, various sites 2000-2002
Duties varied from operating large plant on site to rigging of large
frames up to 20 meters long followed by the erecting stage from technical
drawings. Daily I worked with different types of cranes self erectors,
mobile etc. My other duties varied from erecting scaffold which included
working at heights to site supervision, whilst in this employment I
completed a course on kinetic manual handling training.
Quality Control, Erecting Supervisor
Vencil Resil Howden-various sites 2002-2004
Duties varied from operating crane, rigging of loads, working from
technical drawings, providing supervision and running the quality control
side of the job from inspecting materials coming in to the end product
going out, I regularly went out to site to assist in the erection of the
structures. Taking an active role in health and safety including risk
assessments, method statement and lifting plans.
Steel Erector/Rigger
Various sites across the UK 2004-2007
Duties included all aspects of steel erecting and rigging, operating
large plant, using tools associated with the steel erecting industry. My
position also required me to inspect harnesses, lanyard and inertia blocks.
I also played an active role assisting my company director on risk
assessment, method statement and general health safety issues on site.

Anglia Form works Norwich January-July 2007
Working on a exciting new sub station re-build my roles were to assist
with all plant movement on site and coordinate all crane lifts on site in
conjunction with balfour beatty management. I also became involved with
the quality control for the contract checking all works before signing them
over to the principal contractor.

Prater Ltd 2007-2010
A varied and wide range of duties, from driving tele-handler, cherry
picker/scissor lifts on site. My key roles were to represent the workers in
all matters regarding H/S on all sites nationwide attending safety
meetings, walk rounds and active and pro-active monitoring . Also I was
lead lifting supervisor on all Northern sites I attended helping with
lifting plans, PTW's and the ordering,set up and use of all safety
equipment/lifting equipment needed this included lifting beams upto and
over 35meters long.
At the end of the contract I was left to oversee all quality issues on
site for my company this involved assessing of all finished works to ensure
they met clients required standards and specification before hand over's
could be completed. The health and safety of all my companies workers also
was handed over to me which include risk assessment method statement was
adhered to and reviewed, all site meetings both safety and progress were
attended and I completed all hand over before job completion.

Total Safety throughout 2011
My role was to oversee all aspects of health and safety on Lindsey oil
refinery in control of over 150 safety attendants working along side 3000
contractors to who I provide safety information, toolbox talks, training
and dealt with all safety issues that arose on site.
Daily I would review risk assessment/method statements for jobs along with
carrying out mock emergency procedures with various different contractors.
I received training on Gemini and north masks completed a face fit test
along with training on other BA equipment and ray monitors for detection of
gases. I was actively involved in site audits and environmental auditing.

West Burton Power Plant
Health and safety advisor working as part of a team of three H&S advisors
with responsibility of scaffolders, laggers and cladders on site. Involved
with writing toolbox talks, auditing, attending safety meetings, carrying
out behavioral reports, resolving any safety issues that arise on site.
Also I conducted audits around site resolving any issues with supervision.
It was my role to investigate any accidents/incidents that may have arisen
on site working closely with both the client and principal contractor.

In my employment I oversee all safety for over 100 scaffolders on site.
My key roles are to implement all safety procedures on site review all risk
assessments and method statements within the company, write tool box talks
and present them as well as conduct all safety training on site. I attend
all safety related meeting as well as chairing Hertels own safety meeting.
Weekly I conduct housekeeping audits, scaffold inspections and
accident/incident investigations that may occur on site. Within my role I
look after all legal aspects of the job eg: PUWER assessment,
environmental auditing and legal compliance checklists to name a few.

Sasol Refinery South Africa
In my present employment working in a safety team of two I have prepared
all safety files and documentation relating to tower new build and re-fit
for a shut down on the second largest oil refinery in the world. Within
this i conduct safety training and conduct safety talks and walks around
the plant. Also preparing and reviewing all relevant RAMS conducting
behavioural observation analysis and auditing the progressing job. As
addition i assist the site team with the safety of all local labour at its
peak there was over 70,000 workers on the site.
Valero Refinery Wales
SEPTEMBER 2012-
Within this project I have issued all training to a work force of 90 on
site. Training given was confined space, working at heights, harness
training, noise awareness and COSHH. When the shutdown started it was my
role to prepare the safety file and maintain this throughout the project.
Auditing all works, conducting T/B/T'S and conducting behavioural
observation analysis on site. I have attended all safety meetings and dealt
with all safety issues that have arisen due far within the project. I also
ran any incident/accident investigations on site.
