WORK EXPERIENCE
May 08 – Aug 08, Robotics Engineer, FANUC Robotics America, Rochester Hills, MI
• Developed many picking, packing and palletizing workcells based on customer requirements for the M430iA/2F and R2000iB robots. Implemented infeed and outfeed conveyer tracking using PickTool and the vision processes using iRVision
• Developed customized food grippers (mechanical and vacuum) and improved designs of existing food grippers to obtain better throughputs (initial modelling done using SolidWorks)
• Created many virtual workcells and simulations for system integrators and customers using PickPRO and PalletPRO for varied material handling applications
Aug 08 – Jan 09, Senior Programmer, Human Motor Performance Lab, VA, Gainesville
• Develop MATLAB codes for processing of bio-mechanical data from motion capture systems
Oct 06 – July 07, Software Engineer, DASSAULT Systems (Delmia), Bangalore, INDIA
• Developed and maintained the DELMIA V5 Software based on customer requirements
RESEARCH
Aug 07 – present, Research Assistant, SAMM Lab, UF, Gainesville
• Designing a dynamic fixturing device to be incorporated into mesoscale machine tool systems.
• The results were presented at the 2008 International Manufacturing Science And Engineering Conference (MSEC2008) in a paper titled “Active Fixturing for Mesoscale Manufacturing systems: Fixel design alternatives”
• Designing, prototyping and manufacturing a middle ear prosthesis for replacing damaged ossicles (a provisional patent has been obtained for the proposed designs)
• Different embodiments were modelled using ProE and stress analysis done using ANSYS
July 06 – Oct 06, Research Intern, Intelligent Systems Laboratory, Deakin University, Australia
• Designed and modeled a 5 DOF Robotic arm using SolidWorks software
• Force analysis, torque analysis and Inverse kinematics done using IGRIP software
Aug 05 – May 06, Senior Project, IIT Guwahati, Guwahati, INDIA
• Parallelized FE Analysis of composite laminates on Distributed Memory system using domain decomposition
May 05 – July 05, Summer Intern, Laboratorio di Automazione Industriale, University of Cassino, Italy
• Developed C-codes to achieve kinematic control of a platoon of autonomous “Khepera II” robots
• The results were presented in the paper “Preliminary Experiments of Formation Control using the Null-Space based Behavioral Control” at the 8th IFAC Symposium on Robot Control, Italy, 2006.
