Maintenance Planner/Scheduler (1992-2000)

• Planned/Scheduled and maintained all equipment associated with unit #1 at Cherokee Electric Generating Station (110MW) Denver, Co. Responsible for all Coal conveying and associated systems at Cherokee Station.

• Responsible for scheduling of specialty crafts – Insulators, Machinists, Tinners (metal worker), and asbestos abatement crew.

• Represented Planning and Scheduling group on Plant and Corporate Inventory reduction teams, also a member of Business Alliance review selection team.

• Reduced on site inventory levels (Cherokee Station) from $7.1 m to under $5 m in two years by removing obsolete parts, using vender agreed inventories and instituting vender alliance partnerships company wide. Inventory turns more than doubled during this time frame.

• First Aid and CPR Instructor.

• Parts procurement for miscellaneous parts not stocked in warehouse.

• Worked with venders to identify new and updated modifications on equipment for improvement to equipment availability and reliability.

Classified Mechanic Millwright (1985-1992)

• Worked on various equipment but not limited to; Air Compressors – form 45 psi – 300+ psi. plant air, instrument, and soot blowing; Coal equipment – conveyor belts, crushers, pulverizers, burners; all kinds of pumps -positive displacement and centrifugal - metered for chemical treatment, water treatment, single stage to multi stage HP feed water pumps; gear boxes right angle and direct drives; Steam Turbines and all related drive, hydraulic and lubrication systems; fire protection system –dry and wet systems and gas (Halon) systems .

• Knowledgeable in non-certified welding and lathe machining work as well.

• Installed new replacement equipment and rebuilt equipment.

• Operated various equipment to perform job task when needed. (Forklift, mobile boom crane, gantry cranes, boom trucks, boom and scissor lifts, etc.)

• Lead crew of up to 5 other mechanic’s and or apprentices on swing shift.

• Four years on plant safety committee chairman. Also two years on IBEW Local 111 safety committee. During my tenure as chairman, achieved one year without a lost time injury, fell 2 weeks short of having 2 years without a lost time injury.
