• Improved departmental productivity. Department function and roles were analysed. Non value added functions were eliminated and existing functions were modified to reduce the effort needed to perform the tasks. Overhead was reduced and department deliverables were increased.

• Cost Reduction…Led $10,000,000 cost reduction program needed to justify sustaining a production facility. Created the tracking spreadsheet, held regular meetings to gather cost reduction ideas and stimulate activity, and reported progress. A ten fold increase over past annual savings was achieved.

• Manufacturability… Improve Product Manufacturability via design modification. Manufacturing issues were identified from operational reports and/or field service reports. Directed root cause analysis activity. Presented proposed design changes and recommendations. Oversaw implementation and followed up with confirmation monitoring.

• Strategic Planning….Developed Operational Strategic Plan for division. Compared short range and long range sales forecasts with operation capabilities. Estimated physical changes and costs needed to achieve projected needs. Submitted findings and recommendations to upper management for approval.

• Productivity ….Order to production times were improved by 60%. Created & implemented engineering/sales/finance operating system for a made to order product line to improve order to delivery response time and manufacturing cost. Current business practices were reviewed and analysed. Changes were made to our business processes and new software tools were identified. Training was implemented to facilitate implementation. Costs and information inaccuracies were eliminated.

• Created software tools to determine Environmental and chemical compliance for the corporation. Determined and tabulated the chemical composition of products being manufactured and substances used. Set up internal procedures with MIS, Production departments, Maintenance from each division to ensure new products and substances were in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

• Lean Manufacturing ….Completed lean manufacturing boot camp. Co-chair facilitator in two lean manufacturing events. Performed value stream mapping exercise for manufacturing process.

• Streamlined Field Service Quality reporting System. Reviewed current methods of gathering and processing information. Developed a methodology for administering the data. Worked with MIS and Quality functions to facilitate implementation. Created the spreadsheet and programming macros needed to load information and automate report generation. Work was reduced from one month to three days. Time was now available for developing quality initiatives.

• Project Management….Initiated, managed, and directly worked to implement $2,000,000-$15,000,000 projects. The types of projects include new equipment installation, production lines installation and new product development. Initiated means developed and presented cost proposals to upper management. Managed means conducting regular project review meeting to track work progress, budget compliance, and address issues.

• Leadership…Created and supervised product engineering department. Interviewed, selected and hired staff in accordance with the budgetary constraints. Educated and trained staff in their roles, the organizational structure, company policy, and the product.

• Health and Safety issues identified in the assembly plant. Determined solutions to correct deficiencies and managed activities to ensure appropriate and timely implementation of changes. Responded to Ministry of Labour for matters brought forth from either an internal audit or an outside request. Responsible for ensuring PSHSR performed on all equipment and processes.

• Coordinated decommissioning and re-commissioning of manufacturing assembly lines on three separate occasions. Worked with various companies and departments to ensure a timely transfer and minimize time to reach production rates and quality levels. Managed and supervised the decommissioning and commissioning of equipment and tooling in order to meet project schedules. Trained operators and new staff.
