Non-thesis Master final project: Histological validation for computational tumor transport models based on dynamic contrast enhanced-MRI. Investigated tumor boundary and necrosis by using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. Cooperated with operation of MRI experiments. Mastered the operation of microtome, and hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining.

Full time internship. Participated in the research on the synergistic regulatory mechanism of myocardin and estrogen receptor on smooth muscle cell differentiation. Exercised basic skills in molecular biology, such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, PCR, RT-PCR, TA-Clone, plasmid construction, bacteria transformation, DNA isolation methods, gel (agarose) electrophoresis, protein purification methods and activity assays, cell passaging, media preparation, aseptic technique, centrifuges, micropipetting, pH meter, etc. Also mastered some techniques in microbiology, including media preparation, plate pouring, and maintenance of cultures, colonial selection, transformations, isolation and purification, bacteria identification.
