Portland State University (PSU): March 2009 to Sep 2009 Portland, OR

ECE Department

• Active member in VLSI Research group - Research concentration was mainly on logical effort and delays.

• Student Technician - Demonstrating and assisting care and use of equipment to undergraduate students.

Projects Handled (PSU):

Transmitter and Receiver Circuits:

Designed transmitter, receiver circuits and observed their characteristics by simulating the designs in LT Spice. Constructed the hardware of it on a PCB board, which transmitted and received successfully even after obstruction of various objects.

Two-Stage Amplifier at 4Ghz:

Built two-stage amplifier at 4Ghz in LTSpice and then designed the layout on ICED tool and then implemented the same on a gold board using GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) process from TriQuint.

SCAN Latch:

Designed physical layout of a scan latch using cadence virtuoso. It is a combination of 2x1 multiplexer and a master D latch. The clock applied to the d-latch enables the logic, which is implied to the input latches to be tested.

Infrared audio transmitter and photo receiver circuit:

Designed and built a low power Infrared transmitter and phototransistor receiver on a PCB board. This built circuit transmits audio signals from a music player to a speaker, which successfully received the transmitted signal at a distance of 3mts.

Single Channel 144mhz Spectrum Analyzer:

The single channel 144Mhz Spectrum Analyzer circuit was built by starting with a prototype double tuned circuit in LT-Spice, which was then transferred to a PCB board using PCB Express. Chip capacitors, air-core inductors were used in the physical circuit.
