Currently my Paralegal duties include legal research on Westlaw and information seeking on the internet, draft settlement agreements, consent judgments, cost share agreements, legal memorandums, legal research reports, spreadsheets, discovery reports, draft interrogatories, quarterly reports, and respond to public records requests. Additional administrative duties that I have performed include resolving and responding to consumer complaints, maintaining unit calendar, prepare travel agendas, time keeping, reception coverage, filing, processing invoices, preparing expense reports, data entry, creating office procedure manuals, setting up video conference, time tracking, draft correspondence, assist human resources with hiring process. Finally I am the person on point when it comes to training investigators, staff assistants, and other personal services employees that join our unit on the use of the office programs and procedures.

Legal Administrative Assistant

I was responsible for routinely managing and updating all contracts into “LEO” NOKIA’s international computer database tool. I also merged and improved the company sponsored access database of contracts. In addition I performed administrative tasks such as; managing calendars, organizing meetings travel, processing invoices, filing, correspondence, etc. Working in a Virtual Legal Team environment, I was responsible for implementing the use of efficient technology tools to update conference call notes, reports and training sessions.

State Attorney’s Office, SINALEVI & Area of Public Law, CR 2003–2006

Assistant Attorney General

While in SINALEVI my main responsibility was to digitalize laws into SINALEVI database making sure all reforms and links to other laws were recorded correctly in the system. In support of these duties I also performed legal research on SINALEVI database, historic law book collections, gazettes, congress files, and Costa Rica National Library archival materials of historic value. When necessary I also assisted the public, students and attorneys with legal research by directing them face to face, or via telephone on the use of SINALEVI database and equipment. While in the Area of Public Law my main responsibility was to litigate high profile cases under the supervision of a Senior Attorney General, basically I drafted responses to complaints, drafted several legal opinions, conducted great amount legal research, wrote correspondence related to litigation cases, and updated case status on in-house case database.
