Accomplishments and Organizations

I was part of the staff of the student newspaper-from 2007-2008. This was a good experience for me because I had the opportunity to write about a variety of topics, ranging from the Iraq war and current events to campus sports and special events.. The student newspaper won a Pacemaker award in 2007; which competed with other university papers such as Harvard and Yale. I was also a part of the Student Ambassadors program for one semester. This organization allowed me to demonstrate my outgoing personality and ability to communicate and relate to potential students and their parents about the campus experience and various curriculums. I also am involved with the Epilepsy Foundation and currently trying to raise money for their summer stroll in June.

EXPERIENCE

McCaffrey’s Supermarket

Customer Service Representative and Florist–April 2005-Present

Responsibilities: Rotated between managing front desk, dealing with customer issues and employee break schedules, and cashier.

Floral: Making arrangements, helping place orders with vendors, and being responsible for managerial duties when the department manager is not working.

Excellent rapport with customers and employees and received employee of the month March 2012.

Summary of Qualifications

I have worked in the customer service industry for more than 10 years. I am proficient in Microsoft Power Point, Excel and Word. Also, I have taken classes on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and can also type 50wpm with few errors. I graduated with an Associate’s degree in Communications in May, 2010. I would like to apply my experience and education in a position that utilizes my communications and interpersonal skills, multi-media abilities, and strong work ethic.
