MANAGER OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Project Management / Infrastructure / Networks / Information Systems / SDLC / Cost Containment / Six Sigma Integrations / Migrations / Business Process Analysis / CPI / Web / Technical Support / Vendor Management

I have led teams that delivered cost-effective information technology and systems solutions, improving efficiency, productivity and functionality. Working for pharma, construction, IT services/consulting and publishing firms, I managed complex projects and programs, implementing new computing platforms across multiple sites. Skilled at maximizing performance while controlling costs, I have managed budgets to $10M and direct staff to 40. My core talents include:

 Delivering IT and IS platforms that answer business process needs

 Maximizing return on technology investments and containing costs

 Meeting complex challenges with simple, highly functional solutions

 Acting as a conduit between technical staff and end-users

 Managing cross-functional internal and vendor teams

I translate client needs into solutions that achieve positive, measureable outcomes on high-value, high-visibility projects. By building strong client and vendor relationships, I foster consensus and collaboration. I hold an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix and a BS degree in Computer Engineering from The Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi, India. I am fluent in Hindi, and Malayalam.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Streamlined support services, cutting operating costs 50%. Support costs at Pfizer were spiraling out of control. Conducted 360° review of all support-related programs. Identified and eliminated redundant or unnecessary programs. Maintained or improved traditional service levels while cutting costs $500K annually.

Standardized computing platforms and upgrade processes, reducing costs 20%. Pfizer vendor use of wide range of non-standard computers was causing compatibility, maintenance and upgrade path problems, all contributing to rising costs and downtime. Led initiative to standardize all systems at vendor locations. Automated process for pushing new application releases. Cut support costs $300K while accelerating new installation of new software releases 40%.

Saved Pfizer $5M with innovative Network-Attached Storage solution. Storage distributed across 25 physical servers caused backup, restore and administration problems. Researched, sourced, negotiated contract and managed implementation of Network-Attached Storage (NAS) solution. Retired legacy servers. Cut operating costs 30%.

Leveraged Six Sigma solution, accelerating certification testing to save $6M. Pfizer e-mail-based FDA certification testing process was unreliable and slow, causing delays, missed deadlines and steep rise in customer support calls. Utilizing Six Sigma protocols, developed client-server solution. Provided highly-robust online access to testing data, reducing need for service calls and saving $6M over three-year time period.

Simplified migration/consolidation process, cutting costs 30%. Lack of reliable data on application interdependences impeded smooth, efficient migrations, integrations and other IT transitions. Researched, configured and implemented automated process for mapping and tracking dependencies. Eliminated need for uncertain trial-and-error process, significantly accelerating transition projects and reducing costs.
