JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Literature search and design of possible synthetic routes, which must be feasible, economical and time saving process for DMF, Non-DMF and Cost Reduction projects.

Planning for daily experiments, procurement and maintenance of raw materials and laboratory equipments, as well as, to make mass balance, flow diagram and scheduling the project work.

Monitoring lab experiments and preparation of daily-weekly-monthly project reports, as well as, structure qualification and specification reports of API, intermediates and identified impurities.

Which include the following activities :

Synthesis, optimization of process, critical parameter study and purification of targeted molecules (API intermediates and API molecules) by known and new synthetic routes.

Resolution of chiral molecules.

Characterization / Interpretation of analytical data (i.e., MASS, NMR, IR, HPLC etc.) of the synthesized material at every stage.

Identification of impurities formed during process.

Synthesis / Isolation and purification of impurities.

Preparation of working standards of intermediates and identified impurities for analytical purpose.

To take validation batches for process reliability and reproducibility of material with required quality and quantity.

Scale up from gram level to KG level for commercialization.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Worked as a Visiting Lecturer (Part Time Job on Week Ends for 16 hrs. a week) at Madurai Kamraj University, Distance Education, Baroda Center from September-2004 to August-2006.

Successfully completed The M. S. University sponsored Two Years Research Project entitled “Synthesis and Characterization of Some Mixed Ligand Complexes Containing Optically Active BINOL.” under the guidance of Dr. Bhavna M. Trivedi during the period August-2001 to February-2003.

ACADEMIC RESEARCH

Synthesis, resolution and characterization of BINOL (1,1’-binaphthyl 2,2’-diol) by known method.

Synthesis and characterization of four different series of metal complexes of Cu(II) and Mn(III) using optically pure BINOL [R-(+) & S-(–)] and different N,N’ donor bi-dentate, N,N’,O,O’ donor tetra-dentate ligands.

Catalytic study of synthesized chiral metal complexes for the reaction epoxidation of olefins, varying different reaction conditions i.e., time, temperature, solvent, oxidant, substrate, molar ratio etc..

ACHIEVEMENTS

Achieved first rank in Chemistry Practical Examinations through out education.

Awarded the University Research Scholarship, The M. S. University of Baroda, for the period February-2003 to February-2006.
