Accomplishments

Managing and providing leadership for five salaried and nineteen hourly material management employees across a three shift operation.

Developed and implemented a warehousing facility to control raw materials and finished goods. Developed a pull system between the manufacturing site and warehousing facility for raw materials.

Implemented a cycle count process to maintain very high inventory integrity for all raw and finished materials.

Responsible for managing headcount and transportation costs.

Established and executed a competitive bids process for transportation lanes both inbound and outbound.

Developed a customer service team to manage customer EDI, purchase orders and the creation of customer scheduling agreements.

Managing and providing leadership for eight salaried and 33 hourly materials management employees across a three shift operation.

Trained and developed a salaried staff in a lean operating system that supports production scheduling, supply chain management, customer service, inventory control, receiving and shipping.

Managed headcount, inventory and transportation costs with-in budget with focus on inventory turns and DIO. The improvement on inventory turns went from 35.7 to 55.3 while maintaining a DIO of 4.9

Implemented new operating systems which allowed for improved material flow throughout the facility, floor space reduction, inventory reductions and headcount right sizing based on standardized work and current business conditions.

Eliminated non value added work time (the waiting time with nothing for an operator to do) and double handling of raw materials (move the raw material from its receiving point to point of use or consumption).

Coordinated the seamless launch of the SAP business system for our product business unit which included two sites in North America. With focus on Purchase to Pay (PTP), order to cash (OTC), Mobile Data Entry (MDE) and Manufacturing.

Restructured a distribution/warehousing center which resulted in an inventory reduction of over $4,000,000, floor space savings of 79,000 square feet and improved inventory turns from 18.4 to 35.7 in calendar year 2007.

Supported the successful launch of a full process manufacturing facility which produced and delivered automotive interior components based on a just-in-time delivery system.

Developed, planned and implemented a Greenfield site (new plant location) and plant floor manufacturing system required to build and ship automotive interior modular systems in sequence to an Original Equipment Manufacturer. Systems capabilities required to receive electronic live broadcast build information every 1.9 minutes, process that data into a modular build document with over 100,000 build variations, keep track of the build until shipped and send billing information to financial systems.

Developed, planned and implemented a supply chain ordering system to manage the “just-in-time” inbound delivery of raw material components required to support the assembly of interior modular systems. In addition to the supply chain ordering system, I planned the material movement, storage and delivery of those components to the manufacturing area.

Developed the logistics support plan required to move the raw material into the manufacturing facility which included materials from 63 different suppliers in six different countries.

Hired, trained and developed a salaried staff to support customer service, supply chain management, inventory control, scheduling, receiving and shipping.

Managed headcount, transportation and inventory costs within a set budget.

Implemented the seamless launch of a new facility, staff and product which resulted in a 100% on-time delivery performance to the Customer.

Set the bench mark for Delphi Packard on inventory turns at 100 plus as well as a show case for supply chain and sequential manufacturing and delivery.
