Summary:

I am a Superintendent with over 17 years in the business with experience on many varieties of high quality, schedule driven commercial, retail, financial, and high-density residential projects ranging to $41MM. I am seeking a position with an established construction firm for work on challenging, high-end and fast paced projects.

Work Experience:

March 2007 –July 2008: Bovis Lend Lease, Chicago, IL

Position: Superintendent

1. Lead Interior Superintendent on High-end 42,000 sqft amenities floor of an $80 Million retirement community in Schaumburg. Project won the Midwest Construction Best of 2007 Award.

2. Oversaw Ground Up construction of 15 story $41 Million Condominium in Evanston, Illinois attempting LEED Gold certification. Performed scope reviews, Drafted Master Schedule, Supervised all fieldwork, etc.

3. QA/QC reviewer for finishes portions of all Chicagoland Bovis Projects.

April 2005 –March 2007: Erickson Construction, LLC. Lincolnshire, IL

Position: Superintendent II.

As lead Superintendent on a new Retirement Campus located In Lincolnshire, Illinois, I ran the following projects:

1. Lead Superintendent on $7.2MM 5-Story Pre-cast parking Garage

2. Lead Superintendent on $13.7MM, 97 Unit 6-story structural steel building

3. Lead Superintendent on $14.2MM, 126 Unit 5-story structural steel building.

4. Lead Superintendent on $7MM site work package including new roads and sidewalks, primary power loop and transformers, storm structures and systems, Sewer structures and piping, water and fire hydrants, and all associated landscape.

5. I performed Scope reviews, drew up master site and building schedules, maintained all field documents, oversaw all fieldwork.

October 2000 – April 2005: Chicago Wall Systems, Inc./ VRA Architects. Park Ridge IL

Position: Construction Manager/Vice President, Operations.

The partners of VRA Architects, a firm that I had done projects for in the past, approached me to help start up a minority drywall company.

1. I helped find and negotiate our first contracts

2. Monitored all field activity, Hired and fired all field personnel.

3. Controlled schedules and manpower as well as materials.

4. Tracked and Verified Payroll and Materials.

5. Our clients repeatedly returned to us for the opportunity to bid work and we quickly grew to 30 employees.

6. Types of projects included hospitality, financial, retail, commercial, and institutional.

7. I remained with VRA for an additional 2-½ years in a Construction Management position after Chicago Wall Systems folded.

September 1997- September 2000: J&J Randle and Sons, Inc. Chicago, IL

Position: Project Manager/ Superintendent

1. Brought in as a carpenter but made foreman within the first month on a 14 story Hotel Project in Downtown Chicago. Project came in 15% under budget.

2. Estimated, Negotiated, and managed the companies first steel stud/ drywall project, Renaissance North in Hyde Park, a 92 Unit Loft conversion.

3. Estimated, Negotiated and Managed Renaissance South, a 107 Unit steel stud and drywall contract. Work was awarded to us for our performance on Renaissance North.

4. Estimated and Negotiated several other smaller carpentry subcontracts including a LaSalle Branch, Cook-Tec, an induction heater manufacturing Facility, and several town homes.

June 1994 – August 1997: The Wood Shop. Oak Park, IL

Position: Lead Cabinetmaker.

1. I started as a cabinetmaker, but soon became the lead installer.

2. Fabricated and installed all forms of millwork

3. In charge of field measurements and installation.

March 1991 – May 1994: Honey Do Repair Co., Inc, Oakland, CA

Position: Carpenter/ Foreman.

1. Worked as a carpenter and foreman doing repairs and small jobs in homes and commercial properties throughout the Bay Area.

2. I ran several projects simultaneously.

3. Supervised up to 16 people.

April 1987 – February 1991: United States Army.

Position: Construction Equipment Mechanic (MOS. 62B1P).

1. Worked as a construction equipment Mechanic.

2. Repaired and operated trucks from 1-ton pickups to 22 ½ ton rigs, backhoes, road graders, bucket loaders, forklifts, bulldozers, and cranes.

3. Our unit built and demolished roads, bridges, runways, and other civil military projects.

4. I received several awards for my performance.

5. I am also a Gulf War veteran.
