• Acted as maintenance supervisor position for three months while maintaining all other responsibilities.

• Created multimillion dollar capital and maintenance expense budgets.

• Managed maintenance projects ranging from small projects such as pump and piping upgrades to larger projects such as a $600,000 project to repaint a bridge.

• Worked as sole night shift engineer on turnarounds and catalyst changes who managed shifts of five to fifteen contract workers and inspected vessels such as steam drums, an incinerator, heat exchangers, a distillation tower, and other process equipment.

• Designed projects that included instruments, control valves, pumps, and piping changes.

• Designed new system for increasing potential of vacuum at vacuum tower.

• Created PI ProcessBook graphics that showed real time process values for engineers to see at their computers.

• Formatted Process Management Database reports to allow engineers to quickly calculate material and energy balances, heat exchanger duties, and many other process variables over any chosen time period.

• Evaluated more than half of the relief valves at the Catlettsburg refinery to decide whether they met federal safety regulations.

• Worked five terms for approximately eighteen months in between school quarters.
