Quick Synopsis:

More than ** years involvement with electrical, mechanical, and computer related system design and deployment with the last 25 plus years in architecting, designing, and implementing medium and large scale computer systems from concept through deployment focusing on “under the cover” aspects of overall system design. Positive creative and energetic motivator in directing multi-discipline individuals primarily in Electrical, Mechanical, Program, and Test environments resulting in easy to use and maintain complicated systems. Continue to maintain a close relationship with early adopters and specialty users: military, telco industry, and academia.

Current Activities (2009 – present)

• Completing coordination of installation and on-site validation of water treatment facility Expected cost savings of $350K first year against $200K equipment cost, $100K development cost

• Developing new DMX / Blue Tooth / Android based control system for a theater lighting control group to replace existing $3K sale / $1.6K cost package to $.5K sale / $75 cost. Expected volume to go from 750 to 5K to 8K per year

• Potentially characterization and/or simulation work to be done on a 1.1GHz DDR3 diff clock going through a high-speed mux part

Current Accomplishments (2009 – present)

• Evaluated and defined new requirements for a existing water treatment facility for automating monitoring and control to provide $15M expansion

• Architected, Designed and implemented Microchip PIC based technology demonstrator for a micro-manipulator company

• Continue to provided consultation and contracting for a number of small firms to provide remote control and monitoring on water system wells and treatment centers.

• Provide integration of automation systems for home and small business utilizing Off the Shelf solutions supplemented with unique, application specific hardware and software

Accomplishments (Blade Center HT System Design – 2004-2009)

• Provided technical expertise and on-site supervision of numerous high-end server installations based on mixtures of blade and traditional computing environments.

• Defined and directed changes to physical plants to support upgrades required for blade and heterogeneous computing and storage environments.

• Successfully negotiated architecture and design points with numerous organizations

• Successfully deployed functional 1st pass hardware in early adopters hands ahead of published schedules

• Production pass required minor changes to imbed improvements identified during test process

• Successfully directed, coordinated, passed and validated tests in numerous areas involving RoHS, NEBS, VOC, UL, EMC and other International Certification Agencies

Accomplishments (Blade Center TR – 2004-2009)

• Brought back into IBM design release system originally designed by a partner relationship

• Refreshed product to current standards, improved functionality in numerous areas while maintaining compatibility with existing deployed designs

• Reduced costs while improving design resulting on this design still being selected for numerous military applications

Activities (Blade based product release – 2004-2009)

• Defined and provided guidance in Blade development of IBM / CCPU blade (PN41) providing for Deep Packet Inspection

• Defined and Provided guidance in Blade development of IBM / Themis Sun blade (T2BC) providing for running

• Provided guidance in Blade development of IBM Power 5 and 6 Blades (JS12, JS22, JS23, JS41)

• Provided guidance in Blade development of IBM Power7 based Blade

Activities (Blade based non – product release – 2002-2009)

• Developed and demonstrated numerous “proof of concept” topologies involving PAN, SAN, and SMAN in a IBM Blade environment

• Defined, designed, and prototyped 2 IBM Blades allowing aTCA cards to be integrated into IBM environment

• Defined, designed, and prototyped 2 IBM Blades allowing VME cards to be integrated into IBM environment

• Provided guidance on working with and on ‘special customers’ needs (Government, Military, etc)
