Responsible for managing large-scale development and data migration projects
Highlights:
§ Assisted sales team in new business capture; providing input on methodology, artifacts, and statement of work. We provided multi-million dollar contracts to Allied Wireless Communication Corporations and Virgin Media.
§ Managed numerous billing migrations:
o Telecom Egypt – Spent 1.5 years in Cairo Egypt as the overall Project Manager. The project included custom development, a front-end interface to a 3rd part vendor (NCR), and a migration of 12 million subscribers from a legacy system to IRB. Was also responsible for project plan, schedule, status reporting, issue management, change control, budget, vendor management, and resource procurement
o Virgin Media – Spent approximately 2 years in England as the Data Migration Project Manager. I managed the migration developers and testers, and was responsible for the conversion of 11 million subscribers from 3 billing systems to ICOMS.
o Acted as the Test Project Manager for the Cingular Conversion; responsible for conversion test schedule, coordinating receipt of usage file, managing issues, ensuring all development changes are tested, and reviewing test status with the client. The project included migrations for 32 markets.
o Cricket – acted as the Cutover Manager, responsible for the minute-by-minute plan on the cutover night, resource procurement and post go live support.
o SunCom Conversion, Telecorp, and several for AT&T Wireless – managed all aspects of conversions.
o Frontier Communication - Provided project management consulting services data migration, leading the Data Warehouse conversion activities
§ Managed various project types: online systems, rating, billing, invoicing, migrations, integration of multiple systems via APIs, data warehouse, commissions, and price plan / promo standardization.
§ Developed creative ways to solve problems; the client was concerned about the length of time to enter ‘catch –up’ data entry post go live; suggested using CVG call center resources to assist in the data entry activity. The migration team was at full capacity with back-to-back migrations, with no migration resources to help; I suggested using the ICE Team (CVG Corporate Help Desk) to assist in data correction scripts.
§ Performed dual functions as System Engineer and Overall Project Manager for the Short Message Service project; one of the largest projects in Macro/Cell.
§ Facilitated a committee which defined the Change Control procedures
§ Managed the ‘End to End Test’ strategy project, which defined gates/stages, and entry/exit criteria for development projects.
