Overview
Skilled engineer and seasoned entrepreneur with 8 years of experience in project development, solar energy market research, mechanical engineering, and research in solar energy and artificial intelligence. Have worked internationally and fluent in English and Spanish, also able to speak German and French.
Professional Experience
Project Engineer & Business Developer, Phoenix Solar/Etrion (Germany & Switzerland) 2007 to 2009
Scouted multi-million dollar project sites in south European countries for investment opportunities.
Worked on solar market research on multiple countries to find targets for business development.
Established and maintained worldwide contacts in order to maximize the project pipeline.
Developed the main computer model used for detailed financial viability analyses of multi-million dollar solar field developments. This model was used for investor and loan leverage negotiations.
Co-founder, NeoSolvis Engineering (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico) 2009 to 2012
Dealt directly with clients performing energy consumption studies and system design & engineering for industrial, commercial, and residential clients.
Designed, sourced, and installed a 21.42 kWp Solar Energy System for a family owned farm.
Embarked on a year and a half endeavor of paperwork for permits and incentives with multiple government offices to achieve an 80% rebate for a client, totaling $112k.
Introduced renewable energy content in the curriculum for 6 degree programs at regional college.
Researcher, University of Puerto Rico (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico) Fall of 2011
Completed an energy efficiency study for all of Puerto Rico as part of a federally funded project to reduce energy consumption in the island.
Analyzed data corresponding to approximately 1.6 million residential, commercial, and industrial electricity users in Puerto Rico.
Researcher, Cornell Creative Machines Lab (Ithaca, NY) 2004 to 2006
Designed and built a prototype robotic spider via rapid prototyping techniques that learned to walk on its own using hardware evolution and artificial intelligence algorithms.
Programed a simulated environment and a virtual agent that evolved construction behavior to create functional structures in different environments. Much like ants do in nature.
