Dear Sir / Madam:

I am writing you regarding the posted position for a “Naval Architect”. I am confident that my passion and skills such as time management, working independently and working towards goals that the company has set forth, is a perfect match for this position. This position would allow you and the company to get to know me as a Naval Architect and a great employee.

My experience as a long haul truck driver and a Naval Architect have helped in the development of a strong understanding of what a company needs to succeed. I have learned that managing deadlines can broaden a client’s respect. Working independently has given me the chance to experience aspects of marine structure knowledge resulting in a clearer understanding of what is needed to fulfil a project. Throughout my time at McKeil Marine Ltd, the opportunity to work as a group has proven how much more can be accomplished with a higher standard for a company, as well as the outlook that others can give toward a topic.

Throughout my three year enrolment at the Marine Institute (MI), my hard work, determination, and passion have helped me achieve three scholarship awards, the RINA award for best third year design project, and the Bronze Award Of Excellence. I focused on a range of programs throughout this time which include, drafting (AutoCAD), Marine Engineering, Communication, Blueprint Reading, GHS, Hydromax, Maxsurf, Rhinoceros, and Microsoft Office.

With my passion for Naval Architecture, given the opportunity, I will stride to succeed. I believe that I have the skills, professionalism and integrity to be a great contribution to the company. If I have met your qualification, and you would like to schedule an interview, please contact me. I would be more than happy to meet with you.

Sincerely,

Bobby Burt
