**** – Present Ray Jones & Sons Trucking, Inc., Waterford, OH – Operations Manager I resigned my position with Marietta College to help my aging parents with a family owned business. I continued to teach computer software classes for Marietta College through the Business Resource Center on an on-call basis until 1997 at which time the college discontinued offering the training program
My duties for Ray Jones & Sons Trucking, Inc. as Operations Manager include: All aspects of Human Resource Management, including Health Insurance administrator; Implementation and Compliance of Federal and State Transportation Health and Safety Guidelines; Implementation and Compliance of Ohio Employment, OSHA and Workers Compensation Laws; Labor Management; Accounts Payable and Receivable; Payroll Accounting, including preparation and filing of payroll taxes; Prepare freight quotes for customers and work with the customer to determine their transportation needs; Dispatching of loads to various points in the US; Preparation and filing of all Corporate Federal, State and Local Taxes (i.e.; fuel, apportion and property taxes), including Ohio Sales Tax, Computerizing all accounting and record keeping; Customer Service; Marketing and Sales; Licensing and Permitting of Equipment; I oversee the inspection and upkeep of equipment under Federal Transportation Guidelines; Scheduling and Dispatch of all freight deliveries; Inventory control of all equipment including consumable and non-consumable equipment and materials needed to maintain trucks and trailers.
1991 – 1998 Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio – Part-time Computer Training of Staff, Faculty & Students. This training included the use of Microsoft Office software. I also instructed employees of various companies in the Ohio Valley, such as DuPont, Erament, Solvay Advanced Polymers (Amoco), Kraton Polymers (Shell), Ormet in the use of Microsoft Office Software. The training sessions were held in computer training labs on site of the various customers or at the Marietta College computer training lab.
1984 – 1995 Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio – Full-Time Manager of Computing Resources. Duties included the set-up and maintenance of multiple computer labs on campus both Macintosh and PC based. Assess computer needs of all campus personnel (both faculty and staff) and implement those needs, as well as answered the help desk questions. I staffed and supervised computer labs with student employees for after-hours assistance. Setup and repair of all college computer equipment was also my responsibility. Inventory Control of all computing equipment, software and accessories. I assisted the set-up of computer networking of various offices and the use of the World Wide Web under the direction of my immediate supervisor, Dr. Robert E. Anderson, Director of Information Technology.
1979 – 1984 Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Marietta, Caldwell and Cambridge, Ohio – Claims Assistant. Duties included processing of unemployment claims for Ohio and multiple state claims; register claimants for employment opportunities through the state employment services program. Conduct fact finding interviews between employers and claimants to determine benefit compensation.
