High School Science Teacher: Griffith High School – Griffith, Indiana (8/2010 – Present)
Teach Earth Science and Chemistry using Holt Science textbooks and supplemental resources, aligned to the Indiana state standards. Promote hands on learning through laboratory experiments, Internet activities, and home projects. Instill skills such as organization, time management, and preparedness through in class and out of class assignments. Help with the Science Olympiad team and part of the discipline committee.
7th/8th Grade Science Teacher: St. Mary Catholic School – Crown Point, Indiana (8/2009 – 6/2010)
Tought 7th and 8th grade science using the Holt Science and Technology series textbook, aligned to the Indiana state standards. Promote organization skills, safe learning environment, and many hands on activities including laboratory experiments. Started St Mary’s first Science Olympiad team and helped teach 8th grade math.
Resident Coordinator: Creative Community Living Services – Plover, Wisconsin (2/2005 – 7/2008)
Responsibilities included caring for adults with physical and/or mental disabilities. Specifically taught adults with various disabilities life skills such as budgeting money, household care and cleaning, personal hygiene awareness, and social/communication skills.
Pharmaceutical Technician: NeighborCare Pharmacy – Stevens Point, Wisconsin (2/2005-12/2005)
Lead technician in the IV department. Responsible for making IVs and sending them to surrounding nursing homes, CBRFs, and hospitals. Used the computer programs Citrix and Intellirx to fill patient orders, look at patient history, and print patient labels for our products. Provided assistance packaging pills with a unit dose machine and packaging pills in punch cards.
Chem/Phys and Math Departments: LeTourneau University – Longview, Texas (9/2003-5/2004)
Provided assistance to professors by grading homework, setting up labs, and grading lab reports for Chemistry and Physics classes. Gained experience using GC-17A Gas Chromatograph in an undergraduate research program. Teacher’s aid in the math department by co-teaching classes and tutoring students.
Internship/Undergraduate Research: Ana-Lab Corporation – Kilgore, Texas (1/2004-5/2004)
Became knowledgeable with quality control systems, SOPs, ISO, and NELAC. Created and tested a SOP designed to test soil for soluble sulfates. This opportunity enhanced my chemistry and laboratory skills.
