Working in a Japanese restaurant was an exciting experience. I learned how to cook foreign dishes for the customers. I prepped food for the kitchen and the Teppanyaki chefs. During lunch and dinner shifts I would cook the dishes in the kitchen. I would also help with washing the dishes during daytime hours while still managing to cook all orders that came into the kitchen. Creativity was a big part in cooking the dishes. After lunch and dinner shifts I had to make sure everything was set up and clean for the next shift or day. I had the responsibility of cooking lunch and dinner for the staff at the restaurant. SWAK, Scan Weigh and Key
I worked in SWAK at FedEx scanning bar codes off of packages and would 10-key in the zip codes. This would scan the information of the shipper, destination of the package and weigh the package. Another responsibility in SWAK was to check the packages for any damage, if there was we were to fix the box or report the severity to a manager.
After a couple of months working in the SWAK area, I was promoted to load the trailers with the packages. We would have to carefully look at the zip codes on the packages to ensure that they are going to the correct location. We would also have to pack them in a strategic matter so they would not be damaged during the haul.

I started working at Applebee’s as a hostess. My job as a hostess was to greet people and parties with a smile as they came in the door. I was to seat them at a table and to announce any specials that we would have at that time. I would open the host stand at the beginning of a shift with making sure everything was neat and organized for the days work. I also had the responsibility of blowing up balloons for the children that would come in that day. At the end of the shift I was to close down the host stand cleaning everything up.
I was trained in to be a back of the house line cook. I would help coworkers prepare food. I was trained in at all sections of the line. I knew how to cook all menu items.
