Personal Highlights
I graduated High School in 1967. I enlisted in the US Army in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1971. I attended a GI Bill sponsored course of study at the Washington Drafting School (Now defunct) between 1970 thru 1971. I entered the civilian employment market at Buell Envirotech in 1972 as an electrical assembler in their electrical manufacturing shop. In 1976 I was appointed as the shops’ Detailer\Engineering Liaison. I bid on and succeeded in winning an Electrical Designer position in 1978. An acquisition by G.E. in 1981 secured me the position of Supervisor of Electrical Manufacturing Design & Drafting Department with eight designers in my charge. I left GESSI in 1988 to accept a Sr. Electrical Designer position, with the start-up company Project Integration, [now defunct]. The collapse of Project Integration in 1989 lead to my entry into the contract employment arena with United Technical Associates [UTA] as a Sr. Electrical Designer and ended in 2000 when I began at Digicon Inc.
My computer and CAD experience began in 1982 with GE Calma software on mainframe CADD Workstations. In mid 1984 the Manufacturing Manager and I configured and purchased the companys’ first PC based CADD station running AutoCAD Rel. 1.70 and since that time I have used all releases of AutoCAD through and including 2010. I am also proficient with AutoCADs’ Raster Design program. My interest in 3D drafting prompted me to purchase Autodesks’ Inventor8 training package. I have a very good working knowledge of MS Widows thru Windows7; MS Office2010, most standard file support/maintenance programs, e.g. FTP, WinZip etc… and various graphic/image management packages.
