MRV Communications, Chatsworth, CA

Production Manager, January 2007 - Present

Direct a team of mechanical and electronic technicians of high tech fiber optic products used by Telecoms and the Military around the world. When I came into this position 72% of orders were being shipped on time and they had $1,200,000.00 work in progress (WIP). Within 8 months, 98% of orders were being shipped on time and the WIP was cut in half to $600,000, more product was being produced, overtime was cut in half, and job completion time in production went from 38 days down to 14 days.

Pacific Accessory Corporation, Santa Ana, CA

Production Manager, 2005 - 2006

Automotive electronics manufacture for Original Equipment Manufacture and aftermarket. Challenged to keep high volume distribution accounts, Best Buy & Circuit City, fully stocked, while at the same time, averaging two new product introductions monthly. I revamped layout of facility to shorten production cycle throughput .Implemented lean principles in assembly process. Accomplished 15% increase in production output using WIP load leveling techniques and employee team building skills.

TMI Products Inc, Corona, CA

Production Manager, 2004

Managed aftermarket division and newly developed OEM Electronics Division for BMW and Toyota. Quickly led team to develop quality controls specific to ISO 9001, which were required for OEM Division. Due to inefficient assembly setup and employee lack of urgency, the company missed a high percentage of shipments. I launched an expedite program that specifically elevated status for parts used by the Best Buy account to top priority which allowed us to ship same day as promised. Reorganized mobile electronics assembly line to triple daily production capacity via dedicated assembly lines and modular assembly process. Developed in line inspection for mobile electronics quality control process to keep pace with production flow.

Genomic Solutions, Irvine, CA

Production Manager, 2000 - 2002

Manufactured precision robots used for drug discovery by major clients, Glaxco Smith Kline, Novartis, Pfizer. Coached a workforce of 70 electrical and mechanical assemblers; including support staff consisting of, purchasing, inventory control, master scheduling, and machine shop. After two months, I was promoted to take charge of sister Company Bio Dot. Increased production capacity 50% via lean manufacturing, work cells, 85% reduction in inventory shortage, accomplished using BOO/BOM audits and controls. Increased shop floor efficiency 35% by building modules to top assembly level.

Pacific Fitness Corp, Cypress, CA

Production Manager, 1995 - 1999

Managed high end fitness equipment company to triple revenue from 7 million to over 20 million, while introducing 40 new machines in four year period .Transitioned production to lean manufacturing work cells, which afforded the company to quadruple production capacity with only 20% addition to workforce. Improved assembly line quality defect rate from a 10% to less than half of 1% using shadow boards, BOM audits.
