Years of Work Experience: 5 YEARS

Rotating internship at Govt Dental College/Hospital,Srinagar,J&K, INDIA(April,06 to April,07)

Internship focused on duties assigned by supervising professor. Rotations included in Operative dentistry, oral surgery, Periodontics, Pedodontics, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, community dentistry and Oral Pathology.

Responsibilities as a dentist/internee included:

• Gained expertise in diagnostics and treatment planning. Satisfied very aggressive patient schedule by responding to aggressive clinical requirements in the following areas of dentistry.

. Restorative Dentistry: Amalgam, Composite, Sealants, porcelain veneers, PFM & Procera crowns.

. Endodontics: Single and multi-rooted Endodontic treatment performed using rotary instruments and apex locator.

. Fixed Prosthodontics: Cast metal and pre-Fabricated post, anterior and posterior bridge. Managed fabrication of all-ceramic dental restorations and Fabricated Inlays and Onlays using Cerec 3D Software.

. Removable Prosthodontics: Complete, partial, Immediate, transitional dentures, re-lining and re-basing of dentures.

. Pedodontics: Successful management of a wide array of young patients including special kids with exceptional and sensitive patient care skills.

Junior Resident/House Surgeon in Govt Dental College Srinagar (JULY 2007 TO JULY 2008)

As a dentist my responsibilities in the deptt of Periodontia included:

. Educating and motivating patients regarding proper hygiene, instructing home care procedures, reinforcement of correct oral habits, brushing techniques. Educating patients using models, dental photographs, video/still picture demonstration using Intra oral camera, periodontal diagnosis, risk assessment.

• Scaling and root planning.

• Carrying out both ultrasonic and hand scaling to clean teeth of calculus, root planing.

• Undertaking incision and drainage of gingival and periodontal abscesses (under local anesthesia).

.Planning and performing flap surgeries, mucogingival surgeries, tooth splinting, apicoectomies, periapical surgeries and curettage, subgingival curettage,osseus surgery,gingivectomy,occlusal evaluation and therapy.

As a dentist, my responsibilities included:

. Performing simple and complex tooth extraction including extraction of all types of impacted teeth.

• Performed restorative procedures (fillings, amalgams, composites, Glass ionomer etc).

. Light cured fillings (GIC, Calcium Hydroxide and Composites).

• Experience in handling various types of extractions and emergencies.
