PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Controller 1999 to Feb 2009

KMC Corporation, Warsaw, IN

Managed all financial and accounting functions for 4 companies. Three were manufacturers of OEM furniture & bedding to the RV and Contract Industries. The forth was a metal fabricator. Accountability extended to A/R, A/P, payroll, financial statements, profit flow & cash flow analysis, management of lines of credit and intercompany notes. As management team member participated in strategic planning, including expense forecasting, tax planning, cash management and investment strategies.

Responsible for human resources and the setup of bonus programs. Purchased health, life & disability insurances; workers compensation; liability and property coverages and annual audits thereof. Sales and Use tax in IN & CA. 401K Plan administrator. Corporate liaison with lenders, CPA firms and auditors (IRS, property tax assessors and insurances). Reported directly to the President.

Significant Contributions:

• Provided financial data and accounting services in connection with the startup of two companies including licensing & legal requirements, conversion from C-corp to S-corp, a tax free S-corp spin off with collaboration our corporate attorney.

• Networked and upgraded various times the Peachtree accounting software and implemented multi-user functions for A/R invoicing, packing lists and pick lists. These contributed to various new management reports for items sold, prices charged & gross margins to customers via multiple level BOM.

• Established various Excel reports to improve daily expense tracking, cash flow, general communications to improve decision making and business results.

Computer & Software Experience:

I have a strong computer background with various operating systems and detailed experience with Peachtree Premium Accounting for Manufacturing, MS Excel, MS Office, ADP payroll, E-time, DnB, ACH banking, Norton and Adobe. Have used Harvard Graphics, MAS90, Lotus 123, Quattro Pro and QuickBooks.

After revenues dropped by 90% KMC Corporation ceased operations 11/14/08. I was the last employee and finished off all the year end items: Financials, Tax Returns, 1099’s, W2’s & etc. I setup the liquidation auction that was on 01/14/09 and after that booked all journal entries to complete tax year 2009 which is ready for next year’s filings. All business closing requirements for the corporation with the Federal and IN government’s entities were also completed by early February.

Director of Operations

Kinder Manufacturing Corporation, Elkhart, IN

Oversaw operations of 10 furniture and bedding factories from coast to coast and traveled extensively. Reported to the President and hired / fired general managers. Involved in cash flow, product costing & product development, plant management training and purchasing. Purchased all company insurances and directed physical inventories while working closely with the Accounting Department.

Director of Purchasing

Congoleum Corporation Furniture Division, Elkhart, IN

Directed corporate purchasing, implemented standardization of items nationally for 20 factories all manufacturing similar products. Negotiated national contracts and blanket purchase orders. Vendor visits to insure quality, trained the purchasing managers at each factory and responsible for all product costing with central Bills of Materials & standard costs.
