• Established recruiting and staffing processes and restructured the new hire orientation.

• Reduced employee turnover from 12.2% to 1.4% over 2 years.

• Re-established a new hire process that included: creative recruitment networks; 30-60-90 new hire reviews; on-line orientation e-learning program; created new hire documentation including behavioral interview questions and job requisition forms based on budget guidelines.

• Developed & administered a new Total Rewards program that includes: compensation, benefits, rewards & recognition, and management training.

• Human Resources function included: benefits, compensation, employee relations, payroll, training. Responsibility for all legal issues including: EEOC, Department of Human Rights challenges, Unemployment appeals.

• Participated in the development and administration of the organization’s strategic planning.

Gage Merchandising Services – Plymouth, MN 12/1994 – 6/2000 HR Executive

(Previously PIMMS – Professional Inventory Management & Merchandising Services – Second largest national merchandising organization with over 6000 employees and 6000 independent contractors)

• Developed and directed the start-up of the HR function for a national, fast-growing, entrepreneurial company. Increased staff from 60 employees to 12,000 employees/merchandisers and field management. Major initiatives included: creative recruitment strategies and new hire processes.

• Developed a national training program (including a National Certification Program for both field management & staff). Training programs resulted in a major reduction in legal claims, including worker’s compensation, sexual harassment and EEOC claims. Reduction in Worker’s Compensation claims $800,000 over 3 years.

• Guided Senior Management staff, including the CEO, President, and Senior VP’s of Marketing, Sales and Operations in change management, employee relations issues, organizational restructuring and workforce reduction/expansion

• Responsible for performing due diligence regarding HR issues during three (3) company acquisitions and prepared PIMMS for sale to AHLS (April 1999)
